Tyler
I was looking out the window, watching all the familiar cars drive by, as Alec drives us back to his place. I felt my eyes getting heavier with exhaustion. I was getting so close to sleeping until Brianna's vibrating phone scared me awake.
I just want to sleep. I want to forget for just a second that I am being stalked on by my father. I want to forget about his elaborate plan. I just want to feel safe. I just want to feel free.
I felt Alec's hand on mine, and I turned my head to look at him. He kept on looking at the road. I squint and watched him.
Why did he lie to me? He wasn't drunk, or tipsy, and he said he would be drinking with his friends. Was there something else that he's coming from me?
I noticed that he became more dark. His eyes didn't have the same shade of hazel in them. Instead of those honey hazel eyes I'm used to, it was more green with grey tinting.
I furrow my eyebrows and squeezed his hand. He took in a deep breath, but still didn't look at me. I lick my lips.
"There's something different about you," I whisper.
He glanced at me and I saw his Adam's apple bob up and down. I lift my head from the headrest. Why isn't he talking to me now?
"Alec?" I call out his name.
He stomps on the break, making me hit my head against the compartment. I groan and put a hand over my head. I lean back in my seat. Was he trying to kill me?!
"What the hell, Alec?" I shout.
He was breathing heavily and was looking down at his hands. I swallow and unbuckled my seat belt.
"You need to relax, Alec. Here, I'll drive." I say soothingly, and I open the door.
He reached over and slammed the door closed. I snapped my head to him and he brought his arm to his lap. He was looking at the door.
What was his problem?
"Alec, come on. It's okay, I'll dr--"
"No." he breathes out.
I frown at him. He sounds different.
"You're changing, Alec. What's happening?"
"I don't know, Tyler." he immediately answers. I gave him a pitying look. He started to shake his head. "I don't f**king know what's happening to me. I'm," he balled his hands into fists and punched the wheel, making me lean away from him. "Confused!"
I look around and saw that we were in the middle of the road. Cars were honking at us, and people were cursing us out.
"Alec, just... let m-me drive." I say a bit scared.
He stomps onto the gas and the car pushed forward. We were speeding through the road, and I could feel that my ears were about to pop. Maybe because my heart was about to break through my chest. My breathing hitched.
He's trying to kill both of us. He's going to kill both of us.
I see headlights of a truck in front of us, and I started to hyperventilate. I grab onto the steering wheel.
"Alec! Stop!" I scream.
I jerked the car to the right to avoid the car collusion. The truck ahead of us honked at us and we drove away.
"Stop!" I scream, and he stomped on the brake.
I hold onto the interiors to keep myself from flying out of the car. We drifted outside of the road, the tires screeching and other cars honking at us. I grunted as we ran into a yield sign and came to a stop.
