Tyler
I was lying on Brianna's floor for about an hour now, trying to sleep, but something was bothering me. Actually, something has been bothering me ever since Alec called. I look around the room. Brianna was sleeping on her bed next to me. The lucky girl. The room smelled like melted marshmallows, and I was starting to get a headache from it.
A desk right across from her bed. The desk was filled with papers and a textbook was on top of it, open. The lamp on it was barely visible in the dark. I look on the walls and it was painted lavender purple, a color that I find really pretty but at the same time really distasteful.
The pictures on the wall makes me feel nostalgic. There were a lot of pictures of me and her. Some were with our other friend, Jane. I squint my eyes as I saw her.
How is she doing? I haven't spoken to her in awhile actually. We just started not talking to each other.
I turn my head towards the ceiling and I yelp. I covered my moth with my hand.
Why is there a picture of a naked boy model up there!?
Oh my goodness. I mean, he is pretty hot, but crap, Brianna! He almost gave me a heart attack instead of giving my hot feelings.
I shook my head and turned to my side. I shove my arms under the pillow she gave me and stared under her bed. I frown as I saw a boot under there. And a sock. And a towel. And did I spot her underwear under there? Yikes!
Does Brianna not clean her room? Or she just doesn't check what's under there?
I close my eyes to keep myself from seeing anything else in her room. The floor was incredibly soft though. Her carpet is fantastic! It was like lying on a cloud. Or a Tempur-Pedic bed.
I heard Brianna move around in her bed and I opened my eyes. I heard her sigh.
"Tyler?" she groggily calls for me.
"Yeah?" I answer her.
"I can't sleep." she says.
"Me too." I agree.
I stared at under her bed for a moment then I heard her move in her bed again. She was on her stomach and had her chin on top of her arms. She was looking at me, her eyebrows arched. I grin at her.
"Your poster up there scared the s**t out of me." I say, and we laugh.
She looks up and sighs. "You should be scared of that huge--"
"Okay, just stop." I cackle.
We laugh again. Then she turned all serious again.
"I really need to tell you something though, Tyler." she admits.
I frown and sat up, "What is it?"
She reached for her side lamp and turned it on. The light hurting my eyes for a second, I had to squint. She put her chin on her arms again.
"It's something about your brother," she starts.
I purse my lips. "What about Josh, Brianna?"
She put her lips in a straight line and tapped her fingers against her bed. I tilted my head to the side in curiosity and leaned back on my palms.
"Have you spoken to him ever since you started staying at Alec's?" she asks, squinting at me.
I jot my bottom lip and shook my head. There wasn't really a need to speak to Josh during those two days. I mean, yeah, I did send him a few texts here and there but he would say that things were doing fine and everything is intact.
