Ameen

I heard a story

Someone I knew told me this story: Some dude was traveling by car, alone, from one city to another. The roads between two cities are usually uninhabited, so you wouldn't see anyone for miles. Anyway, the dude saw a mosque and decided to stop there to pray. The mosque was empty. No one in sight. He walked in and stood at the first row, then he started praying. He read Surat al-fatiha (the first suura in the Holy Quraan). Now, when a bunch of people pray together, the Imaam (the guy who stands in the first row and reads the Quraan aloud) reads Surat al-fatiha aloud. Then, when he reaches the end of it, everyone praying says 'Ameen' (the Muslim equivalent of the word Amen). Back to the story: the dude, having started his prayer alone, starts reading surat al-fatiha. He finished reading. Just as he was about to say 'Ameen', he heard a crowd behind him saying 'Ameen'. The guy immediately ran out of there.
