The man who I had killed two weeks ago was finally found and reported, a violent stink came from the alleyway and they had assumed it was a dead animal and ignored it until the odor became so unbearable someone scouted it out. The guy was hardly recognizable as some other animals had gotten hold of the little what I left over, they found out his identity from a worn out business card that was on his ragged clothes. His name was Hikaido Sawamura and he was a small businessman, he supposedly beat his wife so I'm kind of glad he's dead. I'm not going to apologize for my actions. For some reason reading this article is pissing my off, with a stern click of my tongue I turned the page and ended up reading about ration prices and concerns about earthquakes. In the Hyogo prefecture, a large earthquake had struck them and left them with many broken buildings. All I can hope to do is pray that our home doesn't fall to the floor during any kind of harsh weather.

A loud scream and a line of incoherent curses sounded from downstairs, "What the fuck?! It made a sound! What the hell?!" Yushiro's muffled voice made way to my ears, "(Y/N)! Come here!" He had muttered something else but I couldn't hear it.

I stood up from my little low table and stretched before making my way downstairs, following the loud yelling of curses. Yushiro's figure was in a defense position, as if he was about to fight someone, I couldn't help but tilt my head in confusion.

"(Y/N), did you hear it? It made a noise," He said, his pupils slitted.

Yushiro had been on edge during this spring, I was thinking something might be getting him down or he might be sad but I don't think that's what's happening. I looked at what he was facing, and it was the black box of the telephone that hung on the wall.

I looked at him, brows furrowed in confusion, "The phone?"

Yushiro pointed at it accusingly, "Yes! It made a clicking noise!"

I shook my head with a small laugh, "It does that sometimes, it's nothing dangerous. It's just the gears switching in and out of place."

I had no idea what exactly I was talking about, but if I sounded smart and confident Yushiro might calm down a little. I couldn't help but laugh a little at Yushiro's aggressive antics, it was a little out of character for him but I enjoyed it nonetheless. A very loud ring sounded throughout the room coming from the phone, making both of us jump in surprise. The boy looked like he was about to attack it, I grabbed him by the collar of his dress shirt and slowly brought the phone to my ear. Making the ringing cease.

"Nakamura house, can we help you?" I spoke into the heavy piece of metal, Yushiro looked at me as if I had grown another head.

Since Yushiro and I didn't exactly have surnames we made one up from a popular family to avoid any suspicion from neighbours. I held the phone a little ways from my face, so Yushiro could be able to hear whoever came through on the other side.
