Katara and Aang climbed onto Appa. Aang was limp in her arms, and his breathing came to a halting stop. "What happened?"
"Aang went into the Avatar state and Azula..." Her heart rate increased and she quickly grabbed the necklace of water she carried around.
I paused, doing a double take as we began taking off. It was only Katara and Aang, Y/n wasn't with them and in the small second I noticed her gone I didn't have enough time to find her.
"Wait. Y/n, where's Y/n?" I desperately asked Katara.
"I'm sorry Toph, she was all the way on the other side of the cave with Azula, we were all surrounded and Aang-" her voice broke, "we couldn't do anything..."
My heart skipped a beat. It seemed like only yesterday things were perfectly fine. Almost perfect. I thought back to her confession earlier today, she wasn't lying. In fact I almost couldn't believe it. She loved me.
And here we were leaving her behind.
