A looooong walk to hell

(Don't mind the thing at the top, that's for Deltadaisy.)

Izuku and I are walking to school, we're still a fair ways away but the pressure is still there. What if people make fun of me for being an American? For my accent? For mispronouncing words? I've only been learning Japanese for two years in my own time, my cadence and pronunciation are going to be way off! What if I trip and spill my lunch on someone? What if I fall and show my underwear?! Well, ok I'm wearing denim shorts under my skirt so no one should be able to confuse them for my undergarments, so that's one less thing to worry about.

The thing is, all the unknowns that plague my mind pale in comparison to the known. Katsuki is going to know Izuku's my brother. What's going to happen after that? Will he hate me? Make my life a living hell? I shake my hands to try and cool myself down and alleviate some of the pressure building inside me. It feels like a weight has been placed on my chest leaving me to audible gasp for air. I don't want him to hate me. I don't want my friend to hate me!

I faintly feel something grabbing my hands so I look up to see Izuku looking at me. I know he's talking, I can hear his voice and see his mouth moving, but I can't make out the words. I fall forward into his chest, pulling my hands out of his grasp in the process, and wrap my arms around him. Breath in through the nose, one, two three four. Hold, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Breath out through the mouth, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. I feel Izuku wrap his arms around me. Repeat three more times. In. Hold. Out.

"I... you... fine... ok," Hero's Voice slowly starts to form words that don't take too much brain power to translate. In. Hold. Out. In. Hold. Out. "I got you, you're going to be fine. It's going to be ok." I reluctantly start to pull myself out of the hug for fear of being late on my first day and Izuku puts his hands on my shoulders. "Are you ok?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shut down! It's just all the thoughts in my head got too hard to handle! I..." I say quickly, my words slurring together before Izuku cuts me off.

"Shhh, It's ok. You don't need to apologize for anything." Hero says in a hushed voice. "Would you mind telling me what thoughts in particular were causing you such distress while we're walking? I've found talking to someone about your troubles helps to put things into perspective and get rid of unfounded fears."

"Uh, ya. I'd like that." I say grabbing his hand and starting off again. "Today is my first day at a school where I'm joining late, so I'd already be the odd one out, but add on the fact I'm a foreigner, and I'm bound to be alone. And being an american means I need to use an entirely different system of measurement and the history I learned in all american. And if that weren't enough, I'm from more than one hundred years in the past, so a bunch of things must have happened that I need to learn about like breakthroughs in the scientific community."

"I can help you with all that stuff and I won't let you sit alone." Izuku says, "Everything is going to be ok." It looks like he was about to say more when a loud sound shakes the earth. Izuku gasps excitedly, "It sounds like it came from up ahead! Come on!" and then he takes off through the puddles with me dragging behind.

A menacing roar sounds as we stop in front of a bridge, a huge man with a pointy face and brown dreadlocks stands upon it. "That's one huge super-villain!" Izuku says excitedly and I can almost hear "THE DAY" playing afterwards. The villain roars again and knocks down part of an electrical tower, out of nowhere a hero emerges and catches the metal structure before it can hit the ground.

"Oh nice! Way to go Death arms!" someone calls from the crowd and everyone cheers. This is considered a normal form of entertainment isn't it? It's a bit messed up if I'm being honest. "The punching hero! I wish I had a quirk that made me super strong!" The person says again, or well I assume it would be the same person that said that last line.

"Everyone please stay back! This area is far too dangerous." Calls out a hero that I can only describe as a mutated fire man as he puts up a barrier made of water? How's water going to stop anyone?

"Whoa! The rescue specialist Back draft it here?! He'll make sure where ok!" Another person calls. What's up with saying others tiles and not just their hero name? I'ma need to ask Hero about that later...

"This guy must be pretty desperate to go full monster in the middle of the city," Someone asks as Izuku bobs back and forth desperately trying to get a better look at the fight that's about to take place. "Do you know what happened?"

"Just some amitcher, stole someone's back and got himself cornered." The dude next says as my brother starts pulling me away from the discussion and closer to the big dude.

"Ahh! It's Kamui!" A bunch of fan girls yell as the living tree looking hero jumps over everyone towards the villain. "We're your biggest fans!" I can't help but let a small laugh escape, everyone says they're their Idols biggest fan. There is no real way of knowing if that's the truth or not. Kamui lands on the bridge after another bound and dodges the rat looking villains attack.

The thunderous voice of the villain sounds, "Get away from me or I'll break you toothpick!" I have to admit, that's a pretty good insult. Me and Izuku finally have made our way up to the front next to the star head guy.

"Oh this is gonna be good!" Izuku exclaims as he stares in awe at the fight on the bridge. I turn towards him as he says, "It's Kamui woods! He may be new but he's making a big name for himself!"

"One look at that dopey grin and I know what you are, a fanboy." The bald guy next to us says.

"Uh, sorta." Hero sweats.

Kamui swings around like spiderman before resting on a point higher than the villain. "Assault, robbery, and illegal use of powers during rush hour traffic, you are the incarnation of evil!" He says fiercely and I can't help but laugh.

"'Incarnation of evil?' Those crimes make him sound like your average American city street thug, but hey, what do I know?" I chuckle.

"There! His special move!" Izuku points at the living tree's extended fist excitedly.

"Come on, tree man! Show us something flashy!" The bald guy calls.

"The preemptive binding lacquered chain prison! Izuku and Kamui say almost in-sink before....

"Canyon cannon!" Mount Lady calls as she kicks the villain. A bunch of dudes start taking pictures of her saying something that I can't make out. "Piece of cake for the world's next hottest hero. Hi there everyone, I'm Mt Lady and you don't have to worry about this bum anymore." I can't take it anymore and burst out laughing as Hero grabs his journal. After the villain is apprehended he starts taking notes. I decide not to translate all his hero mumbo jumbo, I can just look at his notebook later.

"What's that fanboy?" The dude from earlier says, "Taking notes over there? Wanna be a hero too huh?"

"Yes more than anything!" Izuku says.

"You got this!" The bald dude says before walking off.

"He was very nice." I say, "I like him!"

"Me two, me two." Izuku says before starting off to school again.
