Protector and Howler ran down the streets towards the skyscraper that had the cloud of black smoke growing around it. Protector used his shield to fend off any of Shadow's army that came close enough to be considered a threat. They continued forward but, unfortunately, a whole crowd grew a few blocks away from the building. Protector pulled Howler closer to him, blocking any attackers with his shield. This left them surrounded with brainwashed citizens that they didn't know how to handle. They were rapidly trying to think of a plan as they got closer and closer, banging on the blue shield that guarded them. Then, it hit Howler.

"Let me try something,", He suggested, to which Protector said; "Be my guest."

He grabbed Protector by the waist tightly, saying; "Let down your shield." The hero nodded, the blue transparent wall disappearing. In milliseconds Howler lifted them up into the air, jumping up to a three story building nearby, landing on it's rooftop.

"Nice work Wolfie,", Protector smiled under his helmet, placing his hands on his hips.

"Just my job P,", Howler shrugged, a smirk evident even under his mask. "But, we definitely should just change that nickname for me."

"Nah, it's cute,", The other insisted, running back towards the skyscraper on the rooftops. Howler was right behind him, laughing lightheartedly as he said; "Just like old times! Can you believe it?"

"Check back with me when this is over!", Protector shouted back, looking as the smoke cloud grew. "Do you think he's at the top story? How are we going to get up there?"

Howler examined the tower and thought the same question. It was definitely too tall to jump and the elevator or stairs would be too risky. He asked mentally;

Amina, is there any suggestions?

You're boots have anti-gravity abilities. You can climb the building easily while you carry Protector.

Great!

After explaining it to Protector, the two were prepared to scale the building. Sure, they both were a bit nervous seeing how tall the building was getting as they neared it. They landed on the sidewalk right in front of it, taking in the height. Protector looked at Howler worryingly, thinking that he was a lot of weight to carrying on his first try. He only took his hand, saying; "We've got this P. Don't you trust me?"

"Always."

He hooked his arms around his shoulders and his legs around his waist as Howler made a running start to the tower. He activated his boots, getting a strong footing on the ninety-degree wall. Protector felt his grip tighten on him as his heart rate raised as they got higher off the ground. Howler only kept his focus up, keeping his thoughts clear.
It wasn't long until Howler climbed over the roof's railing, letting Protector get off. They were both astonished that they were able to do that but, they couldn't dwell on it too long.

"Well, you two made good timing."

They both drew their own weapons, Protector a Diamond sword and Howler his claws. They looked around to see where the voice was coming from, not seeing Shadow's figure.

"Come on out you coward!", Howler shouted, gripping his fist tighter, feeling his blades in between his fingers. His partner just kept his eyes out, his mask lighting up giving him pretty good vision in the dark. No heat signals showed on through his helmet, making him worry that he could be anywhere. He then heard a hissing sound and his reflexes were fast as he raised his shield just in before black spikes hit them both.

"I see this is going to be more difficult then I thought,", Shadow laughed again, his figure finally showing. He pulled at his armor, adjusting it around his neck while rotating his shoulders. His hair blew in the wind as the storm grew stronger. "You know, ten years in your mind Ro'Meave can really stiffen the muscles. I'm impressed that you're so able to jump back into action. I guess Ekon made the right decision to choose you. Unfortunately, you are over estimating your chances. I know how this thing will play out."
