Teony and Laurance landed in front of the abandoned base. The brunette's heart was pounding but, he remembered his training. Being afraid distracts you from danger. Teony on the other hand kept focus on the mission.

"Do you remember where this 'lab' is?", She asked her partner as they walked out of the jet with their other team members behind them.

"I believe it's not too far into the building,", Laurance answered her. "Blaze said it was pretty easy to find."

"Odd,", Teony mumbled, which caught Laurance's attention momentarily but, decided to ask questions later.

They walked across the parking lot of the base, the abandoned vehicles still in the same places as before, still, they remained cautious. Weapons in hand, bulletproof armor on, and mask protection, they entered the building. Laurance remembered Blaze saying it was dark but, he didn't think it was this dark. He's never been somewhere this dark before. He couldn't see a foot in front of him. Teony commanded everyone to turn on their lights on their guns, which only helped partially. They then split off into groups with Teony in one with Laurance in the other since they were the most experienced.

"Be careful Zvhal,", She said, genuinely. "This place seems a bit too..."

"Dangerous? Strange? Unprotected to be a villain's lair?", Laurance smirked. "Take your pick. They're all correct."

Teony playfully nudged him before going off to the left. Laurance went the opposite direction. He took his team down a few halls, being cautious while turning every corner. When caught the brunette's full focus was an open door. He motioned for his team to stay back, them nodding their heads in response. He slowly entered the room and was relieved to see it was a lab. From the description that Blaze has given, it seemed to be the right one as well. He poked his head through the door and signaled for his small team to come in.

"You guys analysis this exam table,", He said, pointing to the large one in the middle of the room. "Also, look through those cabinets for anymore info."

"Yes sir,", They answered and went to work.

Laurance then, pressed his ear piece and said; "Teony, we found the lab. Have your team see you can find anything else."

"On it,", She spoke on the other side but, she seemed surprised.

"What is it?", Laurance asked, hearing her tone.

"It's just...I feel like this is all a little too simple. Why would Shadow have this army leave this place unguarded? Especially if this is where they kept Garroth,", She explained.

"I don't know...maybe he believed we would never find it. It is in the middle of the Amazon, making it well hidden for flyers,", Laurance theorized, guarding the door just in case.

"Shadow doesn't seem like someone who would just gloss over something like that."

Laurance knew she was right. He remembered Shadow always being super detail-oriented. Mainly remembering how annoying it was when he was only a teenager at the time having an adult ask you to do complicated tasks. Maybe that's why he failed in the first round. Still, this made Laurance worry. So, he decided to investigate further. He commanded his team to stay while him and one partner comes with him to scope out the rooms more.
They all agreed and decided to meet outside with Teony's group after about another hour of investigation. Laurance exited the room shortly after with his new partner, taking every step to remain safe in the process. The mask that covered his whole face made his breathing echo in his ears, making the whole experience more irritating to him. As they continued to check more doors, they found that either they were empty or full of just furniture. They came across a cafeteria, a few bathrooms, a lounging area...what stood out the most so far was a training room very similar to the one at home. That sent off triggers in Laurance's mind that Shadow wasn't lying about this army of his'.
