.April 18th.
•~(Y/N) P.O.V.~• Friday, at long last. This week had frankly been too much, well Monday had and it set the tone for the rest of the week, a terrible tone. While I was glad to have stood up for Legoshi in that childish canteen 'fight' the stares I've been getting all week are less than welcome, but unfortunately something I'd become used to from my last school. The only positive of the week really was that the incident had brought Legoshi and I closer in a weird way. He seems like he'll a good friend to me, perhaps I should peruse that.
I'm forced to set the thought aside as Mayumi snaps her fingers in front of my face, bringing me away from my own mind and back to the world around me as we walk the corridors. "Um earth to (Y/N)?" she asks with a giggle, a cheeky smile on her face. I roll my eyes at the coyote and shake my head. "Sorry, lost in my own head again." I sigh, wiping my tired eyes with the back of my hand. The last few days really had been rough. Mayumi seems to understand as she places a reassuring hand to my shoulder, squeezing lightly. "At least it's the weekend tomorrow yeah? Don't let things beyond your control cause you too much stress." she says, sounding like a cliché quote from a book three times our age, though I can't help but grin at her for it. "You always know what to say don't you?" I huff, placing my hand over hers as we head to our first lesson of the day. She nods as a buzz from my pocket alerts me. 'A text?'
+ Sheila; Hey (Y/N), there's drama club meeting at lunch to cast the Adler roles, wasn't sure if you'd been told +
+ (Y/N); Wait they're recasting already? Seems a bit soon +
+ Sheila; Els and I thought the same, I don't think anyone would want to take Tem's role so soon after, you know, but Louis is set on recasting asap +
+ (Y/N); Of course he is, well thanks for the heads-up, I'll see you guys there +
"Whats up?" Mayumi quizzes as she sees me glaring at the phone screen with a twisted expression. I close the conversation and put my phone away, shaking my head. "Drama club meeting at lunch." I shrug as we reach our classroom, the both of us barely making it for the first bell. "Dang (Y/N) you're missing lunch with us again? Too cool for us now huh," she jokes, elbowing me playfully in the side. I roll my eyes and put my hands up in pretend defence. "As if, sorry though, hopefully next week will be better." I mumble, but my friend spares me a gentle look. "It's no problem, we'll just have to drag you somewhere at the weekend." she laughs, "I'd like that."

By the time I arrive the majority of the club is already there, minus a couple members of the stage crew as we would likely be doing the same jobs we always do, even I know that by now. Everyone else however, is eagerly gathered around the stage as both Louis and the club president Sanu stand on the platform with a whiteboard beside them. All the roles are written on its smooth surface, split into three columns for the leads, secondary roles, and dancers. Assuming the stage crew is already accounted for I hop up and out of the way onto the lights stage, where I find Legoshi, Dom, and Kai. Kai avoids eye contact with me as I sit down with them.
"Ah, there you are!" Dom chimes as I approach, a usual friendly grin on his face. I nod as I join them and Legoshi lifts his head up, offering me a small smile as we make eye contact, I return the gesture gladly. "Yep, not too late to see the chaos unfold I hope." I joke, turning my attention to the swarm of animals around the stage. Kai scoffs and rolls his eyes, 'he's clearly annoyed to not be getting a part' I can't help but think, his attitude is still as bad as it was when I first met him. "It's ridiculous, they dish out the same roles every time so there's no point in a casting meeting." the mongoose complains, scowling at the clubs golden boy at centre-stage. Both Legoshi and Dom seem to ignore him as Louis starts shouting out the parts, I too decide to focus my gaze to the stage instead of humouring Kai's protests.
"I, as usual, am taking the role of Adler, however with the unfortunate loss of one of our club members the rest of the roles have been shifted." Louis begins, wasting no time in mentioning Tem. Though I had never known him, I'm beginning to understand the mutual feeling of grief in the club as I spend more time here. The minor parts are cast first, with Els being chosen as one of the dancers, and Sheila being one of the secondary roles, a rouge to be exact, with some dancing involved in places. I pretty much zone out after that, my friends seem satisfied with their roles based on what I can see from up here, and that's all I need to know.
Though I'm brought away from my static thoughts as Legoshi taps me gently on the shoulder, startling me as I turn to him. His features immediately turn down as I do, a frown sitting on his lips as his ears drop back. "S-Sorry..." he nearly yelps, flinching away as I must've had an angered expression on my face. I shake my head to bring my focus back to the world around me. "No no it's alright," I reassure "I was just zoned out, what's up?" Legoshi nods his head towards the whiteboard on stage where they've written crews roles, I can barely see it from here but assumably him and I have been given lights duty as expected. "Is that okay with you?" he asks timidly, tail swishing slowly behind him. I nod and offer up a smile "Of course, much better than being on stage with mr perfect." the grey wolf shrugs but seems to agree, a slight grin tugging at the corner of his lips at my comment.
"Hey (Y/N)!" someone suddenly calls out to me from the club floor below, peeking over the edge of the lights platform I see it's Sheila with Els stood beside her, a huge childish grin on her face. Legoshi spots this and again nods in my direction, telling me it's fine to leave as he turns back to Dom and Kai. I take the opportunity happily and hop down to meet the two girls as Els pulls me into a hug instantaneously, nearly knocking me off of my feet. With a chuckle I wrap my arms around her as Sheila watches, shaking her head playfully. "I'm guessing you got the part you wanted then?" I quiz as Els steps away and claps her hands together. "Yep! Though I always get it it's just as exciting every time." she explains with a genuine tone, overjoyed to be back in her element. Sheila however doesn't seem as pleased.
"And not so happy with yours I assume?" I timidly ask as the cheetah stands with her arms crossed over her chest. She scoffs and shakes her head. "It's more of a major roll than I was expecting is all, so I don't doubt mr perfect will be keeping a closer eye on me." she complains, sparing the deer a passing glance as he stands talking to Sanu. I dip my head and choose not to say any more on the subject, if Louis is already going to be pedantic over her part the last thing she needs is me having a say when I'm just stage crew.
"Anyway," Sheila clears her throat with a cough "What I needed to tell you was about the new meeting times Louis arranged," she starts, rolling her eyes at the idea. I too can't help but dread the concept, after all I don't really need to spend any more of my time sat on a lights stage doing the bare minimum, 'the company is nice though' I find myself thinking. "So essentially we need to meet every lunch from now on while we rehearse Adler." I'm taken aback at the idea, and visibly so as Els cracks a giggle at my expression. "Wait like every day...?" I repeat in questioning, sighing heavily. Sheila nods glumly and rests a hand to my arm, shaking my figure gently. "See you there wolfy." she huffs with a small smile, though Els' grin is much more sincere. "Yep! we'll see you there (Y/N)!"
