•~Jack P.O.V.~• I had to wait until the next morning to speak with Legoshi alone. I can't believe he found her, I can't believe he didn't tell me he found her! Did he plan on just keeping it as one big Legoshi style secret and hoping for the best? His rational skills haven't improved and that's one thing for certain.
Finally by midday all our other roommates have left and it's just Legoshi and I in the dorm for lunch. I suggested that we bring our sandwiches back to our room for a change, saying that it's because the canteen was too busy when in reality I just need to give him a piece of my mind. We go and sit on the window stool to chat as we normally do and I figure now is the time.
"So Legoshi," I start as he takes a bite of his usual egg sandwich "how's the drama club?" I casually ask, working up to the topic. He shrugs and nods his head "The same, just getting ready for Adler this year." he explains in his blank, monotone grumble. I roll my eyes and let out a laugh of a sigh "Anything different going on?" I question, trying to prompt him, but he again shrugs as he stares out the window.
"Uhh couple new members to stage crew-" he begins, a little glint of something in his gaze as he says it. "Yeah?" I again prompt. "Yeah, Kai joined me on lights." he switches, finishing his sandwich and looking down. I sigh and look him dead in the eye. "Be honest with me Legoshi," I bluntly begin, catching him off guard as he looks at me startled. "I know you, and I know when you're hiding something from me, so now's your chance to tell me." I exhale with a smile, playing ignorant to get him to talk.
The wolf just stares at me blankly for a while before shaking his head and letting his ears drop. Nothing. I roll my eyes and let out a loud-ish groan, finishing my lunch and getting up from the window stool. "Legoshi." I snap, standing and facing him. "I know you're lying." I tell him, gaging his reaction as his eyes widen and his ears drop lower, tail fallen and completely still by his side.
"and I know you found (Y/N)."
Legoshi's face goes pale and eyebrows raise as we make eye contact, my words lingering in the air. He lets his mouth fall open to speak before quickly closing it again and hanging his head down, staring at his lap.
"You agreed to stay away." I remind him firmly, crossing my arms over my chest. "I never thought I'd actually see her again." he grumbles in a low saddened tone. I shake my head and sigh, crouching down beside him so I can see his face as he hangs his head. "I know you didn't, neither did I, but that doesn't change things." I mumble, placing a hand on his knee.
"I couldn't avoid her." He sighs "She joined the club, then was assigned stage crew, and she wanted to be my friend! I-I-" he begins to stutter and shout, falling in to a panic. I grab his shoulders and turn him towards me, stabilising his figure as he shakes. "She doesn't remember me Jack." he sniffles, still staring at the ground. "What do you mean?" I ask confused. "She doesn't remember me," he breathes "at all, not even slightly, it's like I'm a stranger." he explains, beginning to ramble.
"How could she not remember you?" I wonder out loud as the wolf raises his shoulders. "I don't know but she really doesn't," he sighs, burying his face in his hands. "She wanted to be near me Jack there was nothing I could do-" he begins to ramble before I cut him off.
"Well you have to try." I state, nodding my head as I process the situation. "Because the more time she spends with you the more likely she is to remember then everything will crash and burn." I snap harshly, realising the potential build up of events. "I'll try." my best friend sighs, sniffling as he wipes his nose with his handkerchief.
"I'm sorry Jack." he murmurs, head and tail held low as he sits shamefully. I wrap my arms around him and give him a reassuring squeeze. "It's okay, just be carful alright? And tell me next time for crying out loud." I giggle as the situation begins to relax. The wolf nods his head and manages a small grimace of a smile as I get up and take a step back.
"But Jack?" He questions, looking over at me. I nod and wait for him to go on. "How did you know I found her?" he questions with curiosity in his eyes. "She's in my English," I explain "strange thing is she remembers me, so I assumed she'd remember you." I shrug. Legoshi nods as a puzzled expression blankets his face. "How would she remember me and not you?" he ponders out loud, eyebrows furrowed.
I again shrug and grab my school bag, ready to leave for the next period. "I don't know man," I start as he too stands and gathers his things. "But take that as a blessing and keep your distance from now okay?" I reiterate, making my point clear. He nods as we leave the dorm and lock up, ready for class. "Good."
