After an hour and a half of tutoring, Chenle still had not yet but a clue of what the heck he was learning. Props to Jisung for being so patient with the younger. He had gone over simple problems and equations just to help the younger understand, even if it meant starting from a middle school level.
Now the two boys were walking in the evening, the sun was beginning to set. Both were holding their bikes as they were walking and Jisung held Chenle's bag over his shoulder.
"Thank you so much for helping me today and I'm sorry for taking up your time. You were probably busy, but you had to stay and help me," Chenle spoke quietly, looking down at the ground as the wheels of his bike slowly rolled down the street.
"You don't have to apologize. I wasn't busy at all and I was glad to be able to help you," Jisung responded with a smile.
"I thought you had to do stuff for your baseball team," Chenle replied, his gaze now averted at the older."Uh-"
"Oh my rainbow skittles!" Chenle gasped, immediately kicking his bike stand down and running toward Jisung. He gently grabbed Jisung's chin with his hand to examine his face, subconsciously bringing his fingers up to the light mark underneath Jisung's eye.
"It's healing nicely," Chenle whispered, gently caressing the older's soft skin.Jisung's eyes were intensely on the younger as his face was starting to heat up. He grabbed the younger's hand that was on his cheek, causing Chenle to stare into the older's eyes.
"All thanks to you, but I think it still needs to be treated," Jisung said, hoping the younger gets the hint.Yes, the incident at the baseball match happened weeks ago and his eye just has a small scar. But you can't blame Jisung for wanting the younger to take care of him. Look at him, he's so cute and tiny. Who wouldn't want to be taken care of by such a sweet person?
"I can do that! We can go to my house. My parents are at work, but they'll be home later," Chenle suggested, his eyes lighting up in the sun set.
Jisung couldn't hold back his smile and nodded his head, "Sure, I'd love that."
The two boys were now at Chenle's house after Jisung had informed his parents of his whereabouts like the responsible boy he is. They chained their bikes to the rack and Chenle grabbed Jisung's hand, inviting him into his house.
It was neat and clean inside, besides a few boxes that haven't been unpacked since they moved from China.
"Excuse the mess, it's taking forever but we're still unpacking," Chenle apologized and guided the older to his room."It's understandable, don't apologize," Jisung assured as they were now in the younger's room and Chenle sat him down on his bed while he went into the bathroom to grab the ointment from the first aid kit.
Chenle skipped back to his room and sat beside the older.
"Look at me," Chenle instructed and the older complied as Chenle was now rubbing the ointment that was on his finger underneath his eye."There," Chenle smiled, walking back into the bathroom to wash his hands and coming back out to plop himself on his bed. Jisung giggled at the younger's tactics and laid back on the bed as well.
"Would you like anything to eat?" Chenle asked, hoping the older would say yes because he was hungry himself.
"Only if you do,"Jisung responded, staring at the ceiling.Chenle sat back up quickly, excited that he will be eating. A frown suddenly formed on his face as Jisung sat up.
"What's wrong?" Jisung questioned the younger while rubbing back."I'm not allowed in the kitchen.." Chenle mumbled, but Jisung heard him clearly.
"Why not?""It's embarrassing," Chenle his his face in his hands and Jisung pulled them down slightly.
"I'm sure it's not that bad." Jisung assured and Chenle sighed."When I was ten years old, I put macaroni in the microwave without putting the water in because I forgot. The microwave almost exploded and I almost burned down the house. Ever since then, my parents and Yangyang won't let me in the kitchen anymore....they basically banned me," Chenle recalled his past events.
Jisung doesn't know why but he felt his heart ache at the mention of Yangyang's name. He knew they were friends, but he didn't know they were that close. Sure they all hung out together and he felt the same way, but he just thought it was something he ate that messed him up. He can't help but feel that he should be the one to worry about his safety besides his parents of course.
He can't help but feel that he should be the one taking care of him. He can't help but feel that he should be the one to protect him at all times. All of these things were completely irrelevant to the conversation he was currently having with Chenle right now, but he couldn't help the thoughts invading in his mind at the moment as if they were in a NASCAR race.
"Do you know how to cook?" Chenle questioned the older, knocking Jisung back into his senses. Jisung shook his head.
"No, I only know how to make ramen.""I have that!" Chenle excitedly clapped his hands.
"I can make it for us if you want me to," Jisung suggested and Chenle squealed like a dolphin as the older flinched at the sudden burst of a high pitch noise."Yes please!"
After eating the ramen the older had made for the two of them, both boys were sitting on Chenle's bed, leaning back against the headboard and watching TV.
Jisung pulled out a pack of gummy bears from his bag.
"Would you like some?" Jisung offered the younger who turned his attention towards the older."Sure, I like all the flavors accept the green ones," Chenle responded and Jisung chuckled at the boyys pronunciation, finding his Korean adorable. Chenle pouted and puffed his cheeks, "What's so funny?"
Chenle's Korean has been improving a lot slowly, but surely. He is almost confident in it. There were just a few words that he mixed up the pronunciation because of their conjugated spellings.
Jisung shook his head, "Nothing, you're too cute." Chenle blushed deeply at the words from the older and shyly looked away. Jisung smiled fondly and grabbed Chenle's palm, placing the handful of gummy bears he had in his hands.
"I guess we'll call this a gummy bear acception," Jisung suggested with a giggle.-🎨-
