Back again

Chapter 10

BETTY'S POV

We finally had 2 weeks off school for a break. And now finally Kevin and Archie were coming to visit. They would be arriving tomorrow and one of them would be sleeping on the couch and the other would take the spare bedroom and Mr. Andrews and Mr. Keller would be getting a hotel room at the '5 seasons'. "Around what time will you guys arrive?" I asked with a smile and they smiled back "Around 3pm we think" Kevin said and I smiled big "I can't wait to see you guys, its been forever" I said with a little laugh and they nodded "It really has" Archie said whilst looking at me dreamily. It made me want to roll my eyes and gag. I hadn't told either of them about Jughead and I because I wanted it to be a surprise and I already know Archie isn't going to take it well since he has a major crush on me but just can't get it in his head that I don't like him back. After talking for another hour or two we said goodbye and I went and sat on my window seat reading a book with Bailey curled up at my feet. After around 20 minutes passed my phone dinged and I picked it up seeing a text from Jughead which read 'What you reading beautiful?' I smiled at the nickname and typed back 'Romeo and Juliet' and then hit send and got a reply back almost instantly 'Again? Thats like what your 6th time reading it?' He replied and I smiled as I looked out my window and into his to see him grinning back at me and I giggled typing back 'Its a good book ok?' I replied and I could see him laugh and shake his head with a smile. 

It was finally the next day and I was sitting on the couch with Jughead as we watched TV and waited for them to arrive. Finally the sound of the doorbell ringing through the house made me grin and quickly get of the couch and make my way to the door. I swung it open to reveal Kevin, Archie, Mr. Andrews and Mr. Keller. "I missed you so much" I said happily as I hugged both my childhood bestfriends "We missed you too B" Kevin grinned as we pulled away "Looking good as ever" Archie winked and I glanced at him giving him a small frown and a disapproving look before turning back to Fred and Tom with a smile. "I missed you guys too" I smiled as I hugged them both and they smiled at me "We missed you too Honey" Fred said and I smiled. They were always like father figures to me, they treated me like their daughter. "Come in" I said with a smile as I opened the door allowing them in before closing it behind me "My mums in the kitchen" I said looking at Tom and Fred and they smiled before disappearing  towards the kitchen. I then glanced over at Jughead who was standing there awkwardly and smiled softly at him. I knew he didn't really like social interactions much so it was nice that he was here to meet them. I looked back over at they two boys who were stroking and awing at Bailey and giggled before walking over to Jughead and intertwining our hands and he smiled at me, visibly relaxing. "Guys this is Jughead" I said and they both looked up. Kevin eyed our hands with a smirk whilst Archie looked jealous and eyed Jughead up and down. "My boyfriend" I smiled and Kevin grinned "I knew it!" He said in a sing song voice before coming over and wrapping Jug up in a bear hug. Jughead tensed up a little shocked and patted his back awkwardly before Kevin pulled away "Take care of her yeah? I may look nice but I will kill you if you hurt her" He said and Jughead smiled as he glanced at me and back at Kevin "I wont...Kevin" He said remembering his name and I smiled and Kevin gave me a look like 'Tell me EVERYTHING later' to which I just rolled my eyes playfully at and giggled. I then glanced at Archie and raised my eyebrows at him to which he rolled his eyes at and extended his hand and Jughead shook it before putting his hand back by his side. Suddenly breaking the awkward silence the parents came into the Livingroom and my mom hugged Archie and Kevin "Its good too see you two again" She said with a kind smile and they smiled back "Were going to head to pops do you want to come?" She asked looking at us and we shook are heads "We'll stay here" I said and she smiled at me "Alright we'll be back soon" She said and kissed my head before they left the house. Kevin then grinned at me and I laughed before looking at Jughead and Archie "Will you boys be ok down here?" I asked with raised eyebrows looking between the two. Jughead nodded with a smile before kissing my cheek and I smiled at him before Kevin dragged me upstairs as I giggled. "Ok spill!" Kevin said as we both sat down on my bed and I smiled "Jughead has been really there for me Kev. I told him about what happened with my dad and he comforted me and told me that it wasn't my fault. I really, really like him" I smiled and he smiled back "I'm so happy for you B" He said and I smiled before smirking "So, any new boys?" I asked and he laughed shaking his head "Nope, still single" He said popping the P in nope. "Well...one of Jughead and I's friends is gay. He's called Fangs and is really sweet" I smiled and he raised his eyebrows "Do you have a picture?" He asked and I nodded and took out my phone and showed him a picture that had us all in it and he widened his eyes "Oh my god he is HOT" He said making me laugh. "I can ask them all to meet us at pops tomorrow so you can meet him" I said and he smiled "Thanks B" He said and I smiled softly before hugging him and he chuckled as we pulled away. "So what's Archie been up to? Still not over me I see" I said with a small laugh and he laughed back "Truth is he isn't the same Betty. After you left he stopped hanging out with me and hangs out more with the jocks. And..." He sighed trailing off "What?" I asked confused "Truth is he got with Veronica" He said making me widen my eyes "Veronica?" I spat out and he nodded quietly. Veronica was meanest person in my old school. She bullied me for years till we moved to Riverdale. She made my life a living a hell, made me starve myself for weeks till my mum found out and helped me get healthy again, put notes in my locker and backpack telling me how ugly I was and that no one loved me. It was horrible. And now hearing Archie is dating her? What the hell. "Why? Why would he date HER??" I said shocked and Kevin sighed "I don't know, maybe on someway to make you jealous?" He said and I scoffed "He really is fucking dumb isn't he? Why can't he just get in his stupid head of his I don't like him?!" I said getting angry and Kevin touched my shoulder gently "I know B" He said gently and I sighed. Suddenly we heard yelling from downstairs and we both looked at each other before jumping up and rushing out of my bedroom and downstairs. Archie and Jughead were in the kitchen yelling at each other "She doesn't like you dude! She likes me she always has! Your just a distraction from me!" Archie yelled with a smirk and Jughead glared at him "No Archie she does like me! Your the one she doesn't like! Like seriously you've been friends for how many years and you haven't kissed once and she hasn't showed ANY interest in you" Jughead laughed and that was Archie's breaking point. He curled his hand into a fist and in a split second Jughead was on the floor groaning in pain and holding his eye as Archie kicked him in the stomach. "Archie what the hell get off him!" I cried as Kevin went and pulled Archie away and I rushed to Jughead. "Jug? Juggie are you ok?" I asked worried and he groaned and nodded as he sat up. He had one hand on his stomach and I frowned as I traced my thumb gently over his cheek where there was a cut and already beginning to turn into a black eye. "I'm so sorry" I whispered as my eyes filled with tears and he shook his head as he grabbed my hand "It's not your fault your friend is a dick baby" He said softly "The hell did you just say?!" Archie yelled and I glared standing up "Really Archie, Veronica?" I said, a mixture of hurt and anger in my voice. His face fell before he smirked "What? You jealous?" He asked and I scoffed "Jealous? You think I'm jealous? No Archie I'm not Jealous I'm hurt! How could you date her out of everyone?? Do you not remember what she did to me?!" I yelled as my eyes filled with tears. "Betty-" Archie said trying to grab me his eyes filled with guilt "No, get out of my house, you can stay in a hotel with your dad" I said as I moved away and felt Jughead wrap his arm around my shoulder. Archie nodded before going and sitting on the couch "I'll wait for my dad" He said and I nodded before shrugging Jugheads arm of me and picking up Bailey and making my upstairs. I could hear footsteps behind me and I already knew who it was. I climbed into bed, hugging bailey with my back turned to Jughead. I felt the bed dip and Jughead wrap his arms around me and kiss my temple. "Whos Veronica and what happened between you two? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to" He said softly and I sighed. "Back in school in New York she was the meanest girl in school. She bullied me and made my life a living hell. She would hide notes in my locker and bag calling me ugly and telling me that no one loved me. She also made me starve myself for weeks before my mum found out and helped me. I just don't get why Archie would date her Jughead, does he not care about me? About what she did to me?" I asked, whispering the last part as my eyes filled with tears. Jughead hugged me tighter "I'm so sorry she did that to you Betts, you don't and didn't deserve that. Your the most amazing and beautiful girl I know and don't let anyone tell you different ok? And for Archie, well he's the one jealous ok? And If he would date her to try and prove something to you or make you jealous then he's a dick and he doesn't deserve you ok?" He said as he turned me over a little and looked into my eyes and I nodded as I sniffled and he wiped my tears and softly smiled at me and I gave him a small smile back before turning and snuggling into his chest as he gently rubbed my back. In that moment all my worries and fears were gone and I felt safe.
