House Ducal was immune to poison as if it were woven within their blood. They saw poison ivy useful for lovely wreaths, snakebites nothing but to soothe an itching scratch, and nightshade berries wonderful as dyes. Vulnerable to toxins, Margrita was forced to burn any ration that contained meat during the war. They withered over time with what little protein lay, refusing so much as a swallow any hen or boar. And while they starved, House Ducal continued to feast. Upon poison, upon animals, not caring whether they were rabid or of kin, meat was the same to them. Margrita would become their next slaughter.
