Part Three / Chapter Eighty

Venus woke up with the worst migraine she'd ever experienced. After being nearly crushed by a piece of cement, this was truly the best outcome for her. She caught a glimpse of herself in the reflection of the mirror. Multiple scratch marks scabbed on her lip, eye and cheeks. Bruises and blood spotted in every other place she hadn't been scratched. She looked like hell and began her healing process once the room stopped spinning around her.

"Hey," Hermione came through the door. It took Venus awhile to realize she was in an entirely different classroom in the school. "We were worried you weren't going to wake up."

"How long was I out?"

Hermione shrugged. Venus couldn't blame her. In a time like this, who's really keeping time?

"It was no more than an hour or two. But you saved Fred's life, and you've been saving everyone's since yesterday. It's bound to take a toll on you sometime."

"Is she up?" Ron barged through the door. He jumped for joy when he saw Venus conscious and pulled her into a hug. "We were so worried, we thought—"

The peace didn't last long enough when an ear-piercing shriek rang in their ears. The familiar sound of static rumbled on Venus' ears, like a telekinetic radio being tuned to the correct station.

"You've all been warned. Third times a charm. Hand over Harry Potter and Venus Rosario in exchange for your lives. Two souls for millions. What hero can avoid this offer before all of their friends die?"

Voldemort's voice had been tuned out of their heads and all three of them panted, holding onto their bleeding ears. Venus knew what Harry would do and he knew what she would do.

"I have to meet Harry before he does a stupid thing I know he'll do."

Venus vanished from the classroom she was in and landed near the main staircase. The once glittering candles that lined every wall were singed to a crisp and melted onto the floor. The clear, white cobblestone stairs were littered with debris, ash and blood. Harry sat at the bottom, his leg bouncing up and down as he watched Voldemort's army grow by the second.

"I know what you're thinking and I'm telling you it's stupid."

"You'd do the same." Harry answered with a slight chuckle.

"You're not wrong." She said, climbing down the staircase and sitting down next to him. Venus wrapped her arm around his, allowing Harry to tangle his fingers with her own. "You have a plan, right? You're not just going to walk in their blind."

"Yeah. I have a plan. Do you?"

"Not really."

Harry eyed her. "Venus..." When Venus didn't meet his eyes, he knew she had no idea what she was going to do against Metatron. "You can't just walk up to her and ask her politely to stop."
