The dream and the memories come rushing back all at once. My throat feels like it is closing, and I can't get the much-needed air into my dying lungs. It feels like I have been hit with a huge truck at the same time an elephant steps on me. All the surrounding school noises seem to vanish also, and it is just me and him. Before I know it, he is taking a step towards me.

Panicking I grab Avery's hand and drag her as fast as I can in the direction of her first class. In the moment of me grabbing her hand all the noises come back including her freaking out voice. "Mia? What's going on with you? Hello, earth to Mia!"

Trying to slow my heart rate I take several deep breaths then glance over at her, refusing to meet her eyes. "Sorry I had a small panic attack. It just hit me all of the sudden that in a few short hours the pack is going to treat me differently." It slips my mind that she has no idea. She, like everyone else, thinks that tonight my dad will be announcing that his beta's oldest son will become alpha. Then the future alpha will be choosing who will be his beta as well as third in command. But that's not how it will be.

"I know your keeping something from me. I can feel it." she looks at me like a worried mother would.

"Well, you're going to have to wait until later to find out what's going on just like everyone else" giving her a smile I continue as we walk, "Let's just go to class. I don't feel like talking about this any longer."

In reality I can't really talk about pack business out in the open like this and I don't want to talk about the new student.

We get to her class relatively quickly. We don't have the same schedule at all even though it's a very small school with only select students to be a part of the 'honors program'. But we still manage to see each other after most classes.

As I make my way to my own class the annoying blaring noise of the bell goes off sending students hurrying to class. Shoving my way around students I take my normal seat in the back of the class. Other students take their normal seats as the bell rings as well. The last stragglers hurry in as Mr. Johnson stands in the front of the room.

"Class quiet down. Now I know that you all can't contain yourselves from talking about the dinner at Alpha Jones' house tonight, but we still have to get through class" he tells us in a stern voice.

He can say that to us without having to worry about a human finding out because this school is mostly made up of us weres', hints the honors program but we do have a few humans within our walls. Most of them aren't put into the honors program but there are a select few to keep the human parents from getting suspicious. When we have one in a class we must be very careful not to reveal ourselves but that doesn't happen very often.

Now that I think about it there has only been one human student in any of my classes throughout high school. I view that as being lucky.

"Take out last night's paper on where you see yourself in five years. You will be turning them in in the homework tray then get a new sheet of paper out" Mr. Johnson says as he turns to start writing on the board. Just then there is a knock on the class door by Mr. Daniel, our principle and second in command of our pack for the time being. Following not far behind stands none other than Colton.

Great my life just got much more complicated.
