"This is Colton. He will be joining us in our honors program." Mr. Daniel directs at Mr. Johnson then to us he continues, "Students I expect you to welcome him with ease."

Mr. Johnson smiles warmly at Colton and motions for him to take a seat next to me.

As Mr. Daniel turns to leave he stops to looks over at me. "Mr. Johnson would you mind if Ms. Jones stepped out for a minute?"

Mr. Johnson nods at me so I get up to follow Mr. Daniel. Everyone's eyes follow me until I am out the door then instantly go back to Colton.

"What can I help you with Mr. Daniel?"

"Mia, you don't have to call me by my last name and you know that. You're basically my niece" he says with a sigh.

"Okay then, what can I help you with Alan?" It's true that he is like my uncle, him being the beta to the packs Alpha, my father, but it felt weird calling him by his name in school. I hate feeling like I get special treatment having seen my mother die in front of me and being the alphas daughter, I tend to get some.

Alan looks back towards the door the met my eyes. "I need you to look after Colton. I don't want the other students to give him a hard time. His father has recently died, he has moved in with his adopted mother. I know that I shouldn't be telling you this but it's to help him. Look after him and make sure he seems to be comfortably with us. His mother is one of us, but he isn't and doesn't know yet. She is supposed to be telling him tonight because they will be at the pack meeting."

I know that I should tell Alan about remembering him and his father chasing after me that horrible night. But I just can't bring myself to getting Colton killed before I even have a chance to talk to him.

Instead of giving up my information on the subject I muster up a quick nod.

Pleased that I will do it he pulls me into a hug. "You will make a great alpha one day."

Beside my dad and I, Alan is one of the select few that knows of what will be said later tonight. "Thank you for believing in me."

"Okay now get back to class. I have already kept you long enough from your lessons." with that he gives me a small push toward the hell hole that is my classroom.
