Ear splitting screams pull me out of my sleep. Immediately I glance at the clock to see what time it is. Squinting I barely read 4:55 as I jump out of bed to tend to Kacee.

Taking her out of her bed I change her dipper hoping that that would make her go back to sleep. She was wet but not too bad meaning that probably isn't why she is crying. I gentility lay her back down on the floor and stumble to get a bottle.

It takes me 30 minutes of her screaming and her refusing to take the bottle for me to figure out she doesn't want anything, it's just going to be one of those days. These days are always hard. She just cries because she wants to make my day crappy. The pounding in my head tells me that a headache is starting to form. I might as well put a sign on my door saying, "Unless you're here to bring me food go away".

I place my finger in her mouth just to make sure she doesn't want food. She bites down on it instantly with her gums. Feeling a hard spot on her gum I begin to rub it. Kacee stops her screams as goes calm.

"Great not I have a teething baby" I mumble to myself.

Carrying her over to my bed I sit with my legs crossed continuing to rub her gums. I refuse to move for anything since it is keeping her quiet.

I don't know how long I have been sitting like this now, but I don't want to move in fear that I will wake her up. I am sitting with my back to the clock, meaning I can't see the time, however, I must have been like this for a few hours. My butt is numb and in pain and my foot is doing that weird prickly feeling telling me it's asleep.

There is a knock at the door right before Robin walks into my room whistling. Kacee wakes up right away and starts showing off her strong set of lugs again. I shoot dagger at him from where I still sit now holding a screaming a child. I can already feel the headache starting to resurface.

Robin doesn't seem to get the point to leave and instead yells over Kacee to be heard. "Your father sent me to tell you to meet him in his office."

That only makes Kacee scream louder. Angry I get out of bed and limp to the door since my foot is still prickly. Not even caring what I look like I walk past Robin.

"Boy, you look like shit." Yells again over Kacee.

I just sigh as I feel the headache turn into a migraine because I can only imagine just how bad I look with my grey tank top and white short sleeping shorts. That wouldn't look too bad, it would actually look cute, if it wasn't paired with my face and hair. My hair is in a bun, well it was in a bun when I fell asleep last night. Now it is coming out in all directions. My face is another story. I know without even having to look in a mirror that I have some makeup under my eyes and my facial expression was probably enough to kill someone.

As I walk down the stairs and through the house people stare at because Kacee is still using her powerful lungs to make a point that she is not a happy camper.

Barging into my dad office he quickly looks up. I can tell he is about to ask me if I can quiet her down, but I stop him before he can say anything. "The answer is no. Don't you think if I could I would have already?"

He gives me a look of understanding before calling Samantha, a lady that lives in the pack house who is around the age of 25, in. "Can you please take Kacee so that me and my daughter can talk."

As Samantha walks to me she squeezes my shoulder then takes the fussy baby from my arms. She then leaves us and shuts the door behind her.

"Bad morning, I see" He states as I fall into one of the chairs across from his desk.

I close my eyes and just take a few deep breaths. "You have no idea. She is teething and hasn't stopped crying. Well, she did stop finally until Robin came in and woke her up then they had a screaming contest."

My dad starts to laugh. "Now you see how much fun parenthood can be at times."

"I don't think I will ever have kids. I treasure my sleep too much."

"You will change your mind. You will be a wonderful mom in the future. Now on to what I wanted to talk about with you. I have been noticing that you have been getting really close to Colton."

I sit up straight feeling protective over Colton.

He then continues, "I don't think that it is a good idea for people to think you guys are closer then you actually are. It isn't good for people to think that you guys are involved. Don't forget about what happens on your birthday."

I sigh knowing that he is right. I shouldn't be getting close to Colton, but I just can't help it. "I know dad. I'm sorry if it seems like more is going on between us. I promise you that I won't let it go any farther."

He doesn't seem to believe me, but he nods. Staring me down he slowly says, "that's all I wanted to talk to you about."

I have to pull myself from the comfort and quietness that my dad's office offers. Stepping out of the room I go to find Samantha and Kacee.

As I go I over hear Krystal, a girl a year younger than me, talking to someone. "Can you believe he asked me?! I wasn't going to go but now I have to!"

"This is exciting! We have to find a dress for you before all the good ones are gone," The other person replays.

Shaking my head, I continue walking to find them. Hearing that just makes me realize how much I wish I had no worries like them. I wish all I had to worry about was finding a date for the Winter Ball. But like many other thing, I don't get the normal teenage experience.

As I round the corner into the kitchen I hear a familiar voice.

"I've missed you very much my princess."

A tear slides down my face as I see Kevin clinging to a laughing Kacee.
