Avery looks pissed when I walk up to the car. I forgot that we rode together today to school. I knew I shouldn't have talked to Colton today.

"Where the hell have you been? I've been standing in the hot sun waiting for you to get you butt out here. We have to go help set up for the meeting and then get ready. We don't have time for you to go for a walk around school!" I don't think that she takes a breath the whole time she is yelling at me. We both get in the car and I begin driving back to the pack house as she is finishing her rant.

God, I wish that I could tell her about Colton. I need someone to talk to about this. Unfortunately, this is just one of the rare things I just can't tell her about. "I'm sorry. I came all the way out here then realized that I still had my textbook in my hands. I thought I would have enough time to go drop it off in my locker before you got out here then while I was in my locker I found a library book I needed to return so I ran that there. I guess I got caught up in looking at the books while I was in there. Sorry I made you wait so long."

She sighs, "I guess that I can forgive you. Don't get used to it though." She then begins laughing, "I can never stay mad at you for long. So, will the future pack leaders be officially appointed tonight?"

"Yeah so everyone will be there tonight. Something that you should know is that that new kid will be there also."

"What?! Why would he be at a meeting this important? He is just a stupid human."

"Well I'm not supposed to tell you this, but I trust you. His mom is a part of the pack. She adopted him, so he isn't a wolf, but he will be around us so much that my father gave her permission to tell him and invite him. Before him and his mom come my dad will tell everyone about him."

Pulling up to the pack house cuts the conversation from going any farther. Safe from having to talk more about him I sigh.

As soon as we step out of the car we are put to work. I'm put in the kitchen with some other pack women while Avery is put to work setting up tables outside in the backyard. Being one of the larger pack in the United States as well at ruler over all the packs on this continent, we have over 200 pack members. We literally have to feed and sit an army. Some of the food is to be sat up outside as well as inside.

The plan is for people to gather inside where they can hang out and talk while everyone arrives then we will move everyone outside where we will eat our main meal and the future leaders will be announced. We then will have to go on a run led by the future leaders through the wooded area. After, people will be invited to stay as long as they please. It will basically be like a big family reunion since we don't see everyone on a daily basics.

By the time everything is set up and ready people have already begun arriving. I need to run upstairs to change. I have no idea what I am going to wear tonight. I put on my favorite skinny jeans with a blue loose off the shoulder shirt. Looking in the mirror I quickly take it off and go back to my closet.

A knock comes from my door.

"Who is it?" I yell from within my closet. I am in my bra and underwear so there was no way I can go to the door.

"It's me." Avery's voice sounds from behind the closed door.

"Okay come in." She comes in to the room and shuts the door.

She must not know where I am because she asks, "Where are you at?"

"I'm in the closed trying to find something to wear. I have no idea what I should wear to this thing." I grab a fitted skirt with a white ruffled top and slide them on. "How does this look?" I turn to let her see.

Avery looks me up and down a couple times. "I think you look great like always. Why are you stressing so much? We have a full pack meeting once a month."

I sigh just looking at her. I was told that I couldn't tell anyone about what is going on tonight.

She stares deep into my eyes and somehow, she knows. Smiling she points to my fitted black lace dress with three fourth sleeves and my black flats. "That one will make you look stunning. I can't wait to follow you on our run. I will let you finish getting ready and see you down stairs."

When she leaves I quickly change. I must finish my make up as well as my hair. When I finish I step back and look in the mirror.

My curly hair is now tamed into soft curls that flows down my back. The dress did look stunning on me also just like Avery had said. It makes me look like someone with power and that's what I need tonight. On my eyes I have applied a little mascara as well as eyeliner. Just enough to make my gold eyes stand out even more. My gold eyes identified me as having alpha blood.

Satisfied I step out of my room to meet my father at his door. It being a big important meeting tonight we have to enter from the top of the stairs. The Alpha would normal go down the stairs first with his Luna then once they go to the bottom the Alpha's kids would go down together. When I was young my parents would go down together and then I would follow being carried by one of our maids. But since she had died my father has descend the stairs along followed by me.

My father walks up to me and pulls me into a tight hug. He leans down and whispers in my ear, "You will be the best Alpha we have ever had. Don't doubt yourself even for a minute." Standing up tall he turns to one of our warriors. "We are ready."
