Umbridge was getting more desperate or perhaps power-hungry, there was not really a way to tell the difference between the two. She had demonstrated that the night she tried kicking out the divination teacher, Professor Trelawney.
"There, there Sybill... It's not as bad as you think... you won't be leaving Hogwarts." Professor McGonagall was in the midst of comforting the Professor who was crying in the entrance hall with all of her bags placed around her.
"Oh really, Professor McGonagall?" The disgusting Pink Puff questioned.
"And by which authority is that decision?" She continued with that sourly sweet smile on her face. Lynnea felt about ready to puke, she had seen it too many times while writing lines with her own blood. Without meaning to, she began caressing her scars until Fred took her hand in his own and pulled her closer to him with the other.
"By mine." A deep voice sounded behind all of them. The large oakwood doors had been opened and Dumbledore was standing there. The man for sure knew how to make a dramatic entrance, typical Gryffindors. Dumbledore walked over to the teary-eyed Professor Trelawney.
"Yours, Professor Dumbledore?" Umbridge questioned.
"I'm afraid you don't understand which authority I'm speaking for..." Umbridge drew out a long piece of parchment
"A dismissal signed by myself and The Minister of Magic, and according to educational decree twenty-three the Hogwarts inquisitor is allowed to inspect and dismiss any teacher they see fit, and I'm afraid I've dismissed Professor Trelawney." The Pink Puff still had a grim smile on her face.
"Do you reckon we'd get in trouble for punching her in the face right now?" Fred leaned down and whispered, causing her to chuckle which was only louder because of the tenseness of the situation. Lynnea tried to send him a stern gaze, but he merely had a smug face on.
"You're right, of course, Professor Umbridge." Dumbledore smiled with that knowing twinkle hidden behind his half-moon spectacles.
"You're completely correct about you being able to dismiss any teacher you see fit, however, you do not have the authority to send people away from Hogwarts." Dumbledore did a small bow to Umbridge, a grin now on his face.
"I am afraid that still falls on the Headmaster, and it is my wish that Professor Trelawney stays at Hogwarts." Dumbledore sent both Lynnea and Morgan a short glance before turning back to Umbridge who was not moving a muscle.
"And what do you propose we do when I appoint a new divination teacher?" Umbridge huffed while Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall helped Trelawney back inside of the castle along with her luggage.
"Oh, that will not be a problem. You see I have already found a new divination teacher, and he would prefer to stay on the ground floor." Umbridge let out another offended huff.
"You have found... You have found? May I remind you by educational decree twenty-two-"
"The Ministry is allowed to appoint a teacher if, and only if, the Headmaster is incapable of doing so," Dumbledore continued for her, and Umbridge was fuming at this point, served her right.
"I can gladly announce that I have indeed found a teacher, allow me to present!" Dumbledore announced and turned to the still open doors where the evening fog was now beginning to roll inside of the castle.
