Chapter 31

y/n pov:

I slammed the door open and saw Neji surrounded by medical ninja trying to heal him, but his chakra was fading fast

my heart started beating faster, I put my hand on my shirt breathing heavily. I fell to the floor on my knees trying to calm myself down. Tears were rolling down my cheek, I felt a hand on my shoulder but slapped it away.

''y/n you need to calm down, you're the only one who can save Neji that's why I came to tell you'' she said rubbing my back trying to calm me down

I nodded as I wiped away the tears standing up and walking towards Neji. I told the medical Ninja they can take a break I will handle it from here

once they stepped away I started healing Neji closing my eyes and focusing. I put one hand above his chest healing a cut he had that was pretty deep, and put the other hand on his arms healing some cuts he had

I stopped healing him and did shadow clone jutsu, the other me went to the other side of the bed getting a scalpel cutting open his arm, and started removing the poison, and I continued healing him

I closed my eyes again focusing, I was using a lot of chakra but it was helping, his wounds were healing and his chakra wasn't fading anymore

I could feel that the other medical ninja was staring at me, mesmorized ,its probably because before I came they came nowhere healing him, and here I am healing him right in front of their eyes

about 5 minutes later most of his wounds were healed and he was stable

'I did all I can, I can't stay in here anymore just seeing Neji laying there...it hurts'

I stopped healing and turned towards sakura and the other medical ninja

''he will be fine, there are still some places he needs healing but I am sure you will be able to handle that right'' I asked walking towards the door

''yes thank you y/n I know this must have been hard for you'' Sakura walked towards me giving me a small smile

I opened the door and left heading towards the bathroom to clean my hands and rinse my face

'I might have gained more chakra but that took a lot out of me, I am exhausted' I thought walking out of the hospital heading towards the tent I slept in

they are still re-building the place I use to stay at, so I am staying in the tent

when I arrived I went to lay down and fell asleep immediately, once I woke up it was night time and was starving so I went to go get some ramen

I didn't stay for too long

I ate and left, there was a place I wanted to visit before going back to the tent, the spot Neji and I spent some time together

I was sitting on the edge of the cliff looking at the stars, the nice thing about this place was it was far from the village, and you could see the stars more clear here since there aren't any lights

I didn't stay too long, the place just reminded me that Neji is in the hospital, and left not long after that heading towards my tent

to my surprise, Shikamaru was sitting in front of my tent

''Shikamaru is something wrong'' I walked closer and saw he had a shogi board in his hands

''do you want to play'' he looked at me and I then nodded

''We need to talk'' he spoke up after we sat down and was fixing the shogi board so we can play

once everything was ready Shikamaru spoke again ''y/n when you told us what happened in the inner-mind you didn't tell us the whole truth did you'' he started the game moving a piece and waited for me to speak and make a move

''Why do think I didn't tell you the whole truth''

''because when you told us you had this look on your face saying 'there is something else but I don't know if I should tell them' '' once he finished talking I already made my move and it was his turn

''Shikamaru you sure are observant, and yes there is something I didn't tell you guys''

it was silent for a moment, you could only hear the shogi pieces being moved

''and what was that'' he asked not looking up and focusing on the game in front of us

it was silent again before I spoke up ''all good things come to an end, everyone always wants to change the world but don't want to change themselves... and not everyone has a future, only the dead has seen the end of war'' I said moving my piece not even sure if what I said made sense

''And what does that mean, did you see something in the inner-mind''

''I saw a vision, or more like the future or more like a dream but it felt so real'' it was Shikamaru's turn he took a while before he made a move

''Yeah, and what vision did you see''

''that everyone will be trapped in the infinite Tsukuyomi'' I answered after making my move

Shikamaru did the same moving his piece without taking a second to think about it like he already planned ''that's not all is it''

''no there is more but it's about me'' I said softly a bit embarrassed

''yeah and what is it''

''it's kinda embarrassing'' I looked at him, he was still focused on the board ''you see I might have realized I have feelings for someone when the tailed beasts asked me about it?'' I looked down and focused on the game again

''how do they know'' he asked directly after I finished my sentence

''they read my mind, well they can hear my thoughts and I think a lot about this person'' I felt a bit embarrassed saying this aloud

''I have no interest in knowing who this person is'' he said bluntly putting his finger on his chin deciding what to do next

once he moved his piece I spoke up ''yeah and I have no intention on telling you who it is'' I moved my piece slowly and looked at him ''and I believe I won'' I put down the piece

Shikamaru looked at me with a shocked face but changed it back to his regular face '' why did you tell me this''

''because if anyone is smart enough to prevent everyone from getting caught in the infinite Tsukuyomi it's you'' I paused before speaking again ''and you kinda brought up the subject so...'' I stopped, looking at him

''but your smarter than I am why are you telling me this if you could come up with a plan'' he asked with confusion written all over his face

''like I said not everyone has a future'' I looked down at the shogi game we just finished

''I get the all good things to come to an end and the part about changing the world, you are referring to war and everyone fighting in it and also the infinite Tsukuyomi, but what about the other part, the one where not everyone has a future and only the dead have seen the end of war what are you referring that to'' he spoke after he took some time to think
