Y/n and Mayu will be leaving next week to go to the village they need to protect. How things usually work, the prodigies will train till they turn 16 then they leave to protect a village, Mayu turned 16 a month ago and y/n is turning 16 next week
Y/n pov:
"y/n isn't it your birthday next week?" Mayu asked while panting and wiping her sweat away, you see Mayu and I are sparring one last time before we say goodbye to each other
"yeah on the day we leave" I said straightening myself, not even panting or a single drop of sweat "I wonder what villages we'll get?" I asked
"I really hope I don't get a village that's gonna be a pain in the ass, like my village" Mayu said while getting in a fighting stance again
I giggled "Mayu I think we're done for today, you look horrible, your hair is a mess and you stink" I said while blocking my noise to show Mayu she smells, Mayu lifts up her arms, smelling herself
"Mayu don't smell yourself y/n is right I can smell you from a mile away, go take a shower sensei wants us to meet him at 8 so he can talk to us" said a familiar brunette walking out of the shadows
"hahaha really funny Haruki, I don't smell that bad" Mayu said while staring daggers at him as he came closer
"yeah you do" I interrupted and Mayu turned to look at me
"now you've done it! " Mayu yelled as she ran towards me getting ready to hit me, I swiftly dodge and grab Mayu by the arm
"Go shower" I told Mayu in a stern voice
"go shower" Mayu repeated in a mocking voice, I gave her a death glare. She pulled herself out of my grasp and started running "I think I am going to take a shower, I smell bad, see you guys later" Mayu waved while running
'that's what we told you genius' I thought as I face palmed myself
"we really are going to miss both of you" Haruki said walking towards me.
"yeah and I'm gonna miss all of you, you guys are like my family" I said looking at Haruki
"yeah but I'm sure your village is going to become your family to and let's not mention how many guys are going to fall head over heals" Haruki gave me a small smile and putting his hand on my shoulder
"thanks Haruki but I want the complete opposite of that" I said taking Haruki's hand of my shoulder and turned around walking away
"I don't understand is that really what you want or are going to do something that will hurt you but make everyone around you happy?" Haruki asked. I stopped walking not turning back to face Haruki
"I'll tell you later at the meeting" and with that I left Haruki in the training room
*time skip*
"now that we're all here, I'll get started. First I'm going to tell you which village you will receive y/n and Mayu" Sensei said looking at both Mayu and I
Sensei cleared his throat and started "So Mayu you will be-" Sensei was cut off by Mayu herself
"Sensei I beg you please don't send me to my village, please if I did get it can I switch with
y/n?" Mayu literally begged Sensei, we all just laughed at Mayu except for Sensei he gave Mayu a look saying 'if you interrupt me once more there will be trouble'
Mayu then quickly stopped talking and scratched the back of her neck nervously
"so like I was saying Mayu you will be protecting the Hidden waterfall Village and y/n you will be protecting the Hidden leaf Village" Sensei finished and Mayu started cheering
I interrupted and asked Sensei if I can say something. I then stood up and cleared my throat "so there is umm something I've been hiding from you guys and I hope you wont be to mad when I tell you the truth" I said looking at everyone and trying to read there facial expressions
"so I- umm I'm dying" I said slowly, looking down "and I have about 4 years left maybe more maybe less, but the point is that at the Hidden leaf Village I'm not going to make any friends, I am going to be rude to everyone so when I die they won't be sad, but it's much easier said then done I know myself I will probably tell them, but when you guys visit don't say anything please"
I looked at everyone once again, the twins are sitting there speechless and Mayu looks like she's about to cry, Akihiro is just looking at me. I looked at Mayu and saw a tear sliding down her face
"y/n I know you too, you won't tell them unless someone forces you because you know if they know they will want to spend as much time with you and then it will it harder for them to say goodbye" Mayu looked at me and wiped away the tear
I couldn't stand to see her cry so I excused myself and went to my room
