Y/n pov :

''you're not talking about yourself are you, in that vision you said that you didn't just see everyone getting caught in the infinite Tsukuyomi, no  you also said something else happened and it's about you, it's not only about you having feelings, but it's also about you dying too, right?'' he asked getting straight to the point

I slowly nodded and looked at him ''yes you're right, but Shikamaru you are not to say anything to anyone"

''not even Neji''

''not even Neji'' I repeated after him with a stern voice ''especially not Neji''

Shikamaru threw the board to the side causing all the pieces to be all over the place.''Neji cares about you he deserves to know'' he grabbed me by my collar

''if he knows he will stop me from fighting, I am going to fight in this war not just to protect Neji but all of you too'' I looked at him tears forming in my eyes

''I almost lost someone really important to me today and I did something to prevent that from happening so if I can prevent that from happening in the war too I would do anything, even sacrifice my own life''

he then let go of my collar ''the person you have feelings for its Neji right'' he stood up ''you should tell him how you feel before the war'' and went to go pick up the shogi pieces

''stop I will pick them up it's getting late you need to go home, and as for telling him that would just be selfish of me to do''

''why would it be selfish'' he stopped picking up the pieces and straightened himself

''love is the most selfish of all passions'' I answered

''I know but why keep your feeling to yourself, why not tell him''

'' because what if I die and I told him, what happens when he loved me back, how would he show his love towards someone dead'' I looked down, clenching my fist

''but if he doesn't feel the same and you died you could have told him how you feel''

''what will it help if I tell him and he doesn't feel the same, what's the point,?won't it burden his heart, making him feel awful for not loving someone who loved him and then died right in front of his eyes'' I looked up and watched as Shikamaru make his way towards the exit of the tent

''you seem to have a lot of reasons not to tell him and some reasons don't make sense, I am not going to force you into something, but won't you die feeling regret, regret that you didn't tell him'' he stopped in his tracks not facing me

''no and even if I do it won't matter, I won't be able to do anything about that'' I stood up walking towards the pieces ''now it's getting late like I said I will pick up the shogi pieces and bring them to you tomorrow''

''yeah goodnight and please think about what I said'' he waved his hand in the air and then started walking out of the tent

''yeah sure, goodnight'' I bent down and started picking up the pieces and went to bed straight after

the next morning I took the pieces to Shikamaru's place, the sun has just rose and I hope it wasnt to early, but luckly it wasn't

when I knocked on their door his mother answered. She greeted me and asked me what I was doing here so early, I told her Shikamaru and I played shogi last night and it was getting late so I told him I would bring the shogi to his house

his mother thanked me and took it saying goodbye as she closed the door, my next stop was to head towards Neji and see how he is doing

''good morning y/n'' one of the nurses said as I walked into the hospital

''good morning'' I nodded my head and continued walking towards his room, I opened the door as softly as I could to not wake him if he was still asleep

but he wasn't he was sitting his back facing the door, he turned around looking at before giving me a small smile. I wanted to smile back, I really did, but I felt angry

he stood up and walked towards me slowly not to open any of his cuts, and put his hands on my shoulder

"what wrong you look angry'' he asked with a concerning voice

I took both his hands of my shoulder and looked him dead in the eye ''how could you''

''you almost died yesterday, you almost left me yesterday Neji, why would you go on a solo mission the day after I woke up'' I said rather loudly, tears forming in my eyes ''you could have died yesterday, you made me worry''

it was silent for a bit, its like neji had something to say but didn't, but he then finally spoke ''says the one who left me for more than a month,made me worry about you everynight not knowing if you would wake up, if you would stay unconcious, and you left without saying goodbye'' he said

''I told you not to worry about me and I did what I had to, to safe the village and make sure everyone would be safe including you!"I pointed my finger towards him, raising my voice

''and I did that mission for your safety, to make sure you were safe, and how could I not worry y/n, how do you think I would have felt that day when you would have died and I wasn't there to protect you'' he pointed a finger towards me raising his voice but not to much

''but I didn't die I woke up like I promised and then the day after I wake up, you decide to go on a dangerous solo mission, almost costing your life''

''well what did you want me to do!'' he shouted, shrugging his shoulder

''you could have atleast said goodbye, I thought you were still in the village but then I found out you went on a dangerous mission yourself, and I hear your on the vurge of dying, Neji I can't loose you too'' I said as a tear slipped down my face

''and i can't loose you either, if you weren't so reckless you wouldn't have been unconcious, leaving me for more than a month'' a tear slipped down neji's face, we were staring at each other ''and you're to important for me to lose you''

my gaze softened after i heard what he said tears were streaming down my face now. I stepped forward getting closer to neji, he then grabbed me by shoulder pulling me closer and giving me a hug

he hugged my tightly, and i hugged him back crying while he held me. I could hear he was sniffling a bit too but not as much as I was

''please y/n don't leave me, you're to important to me'' he whispered

''you're important to me to Neji but I can't promise anything about leaving, you see Neji'' I pulled away looking him in the eye, his cheeks were wet, and his eyes were red, ''I might die in the war''

''you arent going to try and stop me?'' i asked hugging him back, I heard him laugh

''no because when you make up your mind you wont change it''
