Kokichi refused to move even as the katana was headed for his head. He refused to move, refused to leave Miu. She had been there for him hadn't she? On the nights he snuck out of Shuichi's room and into hers after a nightmare. On those nights it'd been just like what he remembered with D.I.C.E. Except odds are that D.I.C.E. Isn't real. With Miu and Tenko dead most of the people he considered as his siblings was gone. He still had Gonta at least but even if Kokichi did survive how would that be fair to Miu? Miu who was stabbed through the stomach, desperately trying to say anything to get their attention. Miu who would tease him, obviously, but cared so much. Miu who was- he cut himself off from that thought. Miu was dead. There was no reason to mourn her anyway as Korekiyo seemed to be trying to kill him. Speaking of which, how was he not dead? He looked up and saw that Panta had just fucking grabbed the katana. Korekiyo looked shocked, Kokichi understood, a plan failing when you put so much thought into was very surprising, and yet all of his plans from before the first trial was tossed away by Shuichi's gorgeous fucking face. Well, maybe not all of his plans, he could still carry out a few of them, the question was if he wanted to. He looked back at Panta who looked like his was about to explode with rage. He'd never seen the little guy so angry, not even when he used to tell the other Monokubs to get along. Kokichi felt a since of pride that his kid was sticking up for him. He looked back up and saw Shuichi clutching Korekiyo's arm, probably to stop him from grabbing the katana back. "Kokichi! Go get help!" Kokichi stood up, albeit a bit wobbly. He looked around at his family, feeling a bit out of it. He glanced to Panta. "Hey there kiddo how bout you go? I'm a bit out of it so you'd probably be faster." Panta looked nervously back at Shuichi who was still struggling to keep Korekiyo back. The small bear nodded, handed Kokichi the katana and ran out of the room. Kokichi glanced to Korekiyo seeing the man trying his best to get out of Shuichi's grip. He stepped forward to help or just do anything really when suddenly Kiibo was next to him. Kaito was in the doorway. Oh and Ryoma was here too. Then Korekiyo was on the floor limp. People were talking but Kokichi couldn't really understand anyone. Hopefully they weren't saying anything important. Then he was on the floor again. Had he sat down or did he fall? He wasn't sure, could he really be sure of anything anymore?

Shuichi glanced at Korekiyo and then back to Kokichi. "So what do we do about Korekiyo?" Ryoma sighed. "Well we could either lock him in a room or kill him." Gonta glanced up from where he was crouched by Kokichi. "No! No more death! Gonta can't watch another friend die." Kiibo clutched Miu tighter. "He is no longer our friend Gonta, he killed two of us and he must suffer the consequences" Gonta shook his head adamantly. "No! No one else needs to suffer!" Kaito nodded halfheartedly. Kiibo suddenly stood up, Miu still in his arms. "I'm suffering! We're all suffering! Look at us Gonta! We're falling apart as we speak! How can you say no one else needs to suffer when we all are suffering?!" More tears started rolling down Gonta's cheeks. Ryoma spoke up. "Kiibo stop, taking it out on each other isn't going to help." Kibbo bristled at Ryoma words. "What does it matter? We're all going to die aren't we? I tried so hard to have hope, to just believe in us." Kiibo looked at Miu, who was still in his arms. "Hoping and believing? It gets you nowhere. Only one of us will survive so you all need to figure out who that's going to be." Then Kiibo left, Miu's dead body still in his arms. Frankly, he looked like shit as he left. Shuichi felt the need to comfort him but only watched as he left. Ryoma walked over to Gonta and took the gentle giant's hand in his own. "It's alright, we'll get out of here together alright? We'll keep fighting until the end." Gonta looked to where Kiibo had left and then back to Ryoma. "We get out together?" "Yeah, all of us." Shuichi found himself looking to Korekiyo, who had been expertly knocked out by Ryoma. He faintly wondered if it was even possible for them to all make it out alive. He walked over to where Kokichi was sitting. He was still holding the katana. Shuichi sat down in front of him and carefully put his hands over Kokichi's. "Hey Kokichi? Kokichi let go of the katana please." The boy didn't even react, he just continued to stare into space. "Kokichi please let go of it, I've got it. It's going to be okay." The boy still didn't react. Shuichi put a hand on Kokichi's shoulder and the boy's eyes flickered up to him. "Hey, I've got the katana now, you can let go." Kokichi shook his head. At least he was responding, Shuichi thought. "It really is alright, Ryoma knocked out Korekiyo. Panta is back. Maybe you could talk to him while I go put the katana away?" Kokichi gripped the katana tighter. Maybe he could just take Kokichi with him to put it away? "Kokichi can I carry you?" Kokichi seemed to consider it for a minute but he ended up shaking his head. With that plan failing before it even started Shuichi tried to think of something else. "Kokichi we need to get it out of here before Korekiyo wakes up." Kokichi shook his head. "Just find it" he muttered. "Find what?" "He. He's just going to find it again." "We won't let him." "So you'll kill him?" "No" Kokichi looked down. "So then what? You're just going to lock him in a room or something? Alone? That's a fate crueler than death." Shuichi shook his head. "There nothing else we can do, he was pretty deadset on killing us" Kokichi shook his head. "This whole time if you killed someone you were killed." Shuichi looked at Kokichi in shock. "Kokichi, do you... want to kill Korekiyo?" Kokichi glanced up in a panic. "No! It's just, Maki just wanted to help and she was killed, y'know? It's just, it wouldn't really be fair would it, if Korekiyo gets off scottfree?" Shuichi sighed, "I guess but, he's still going to face consequences for what he's done." Kokichi bit his lip, seemingly deep in thought. "Shumai, I don't like this. Miu and Tenko, they're dead. They were good, both of them had faults but they were good. So why did they have to die?" "I don't know. I really don't." Kokichi looked to the katana which was still in his hands. "Why us? Why do we have to go through this hell? Each time I think it's getting better we just lose more people. Shumai this isn't going to end until only one of us is dead, Kiibo was right." Shuichi shook his head. "No, we'll find a way to beat Kaede, I promise." Kokichi's soft gaze turned into a glare. "Don't make promises you can't keep Shuichi." Shuichi looked at his hand which was still over Kokichi's. "I can keep the promise though. Maybe not in this run, but someday we'll beat them. Someday we'll get out of here." Kokichi shook his head. "Stop, it's untelling how many times you've said that that we can't remember." Shuichi smiled sadly. "Maybe this is the first time, maybe this is the hundredth. It doesn't matter, I'll say it however many times I have to just to make it true." Kokichi looked at Shuichi, fear in his gaze. "Shumai, What if they never stop resetting, or what if they do and everyone stays dead forever?" "We'll figure that out when we get there alright?" Kokichi looked around. Shuichi copied him subconsciously, Kaito, Ryoma, and Gonta had left at some point. Probably to respect their privacy. Tenko's remains were gone to, but Shuichi didn't want to think about that right now. Panta was sitting next to him, worriedly glancing between his dads. "Look, Kokichi, I honestly don't know what we should do. But I know that giving up won't solve anything, if we sit here and overthink, it's not going to fix anything. We've just got to roll with whatever happens, we have to continue to fight for what we believe in no matter what." Kokichi looked at Shuichi. "I guess, it's just, it's scary. I feel like I don't know anything anymore." Shuichi nodded. "Yeah it sucks, but we'll get through it, we've survived so much to just give up now." Kokichi smiled sadly. "You're right, that doesn't make it easy though." "I never said it would be, but I'll be here to help you through it." "Thank you Shuichi, for everything."
