Shuichi sat in his bed. The nighttime announcement had just played. After Maki's execution Kaito had gone straight to his room. Would they train tonight? Shuichi stood up and looked over to his desk where the three walkie talkies were, he had never given them to Kaito and Maki and now they'd have one extra. Shuichi shook his head and walked out of his room. He was immediately greeted by Gonta. "Oh uhm... hi Gonta." "Hello friend Shuichi! what are you doing?" "I was going to see if Kaito wanted to train." "Oh okay! But be careful, Gonta not want friends to get hurt so he think Angie's idea good!" "Angie's idea?" "Yeah! No more walking around at night! Angie says that will help stop murders!" Shuichi chuckled awkwardly. "Heh I'm sure it will buddy. I'm gonna get Kaito now." Gonta nodded as Shuichi walked over to Kaito's room. He pressed the doorbell wondering again why they had them. There was no answer so he rang the doorbell again. He waited a minute, then he rang the doorbell again. Maybe Kaito was already outside waiting? Shuichi shook his head, of course he was already outside. Kaito was strong, he was probably already waiting for Shuichi. So he headed to their meetup point. Once he was out in the courtyard he saw a figure in the grass. He made his way over, ready for whatever Kaito wanted to do. He was greeted by someone else though, that someone else being Ryoma. "You're looking for Kaito yeah? He's in the game room" "what? Ryoma how do you know that?" "I hang out there Shuichi, just go so I can go to sleep already." Ryoma huffed and got up. Shuichi watched as his figure retreated into the dormitory. So Kaito was in the game room? Why there? Also why didn't Ryoma just go to sleep? Shuichi shook his head and started walking. It didn't matter. Kaito was in the game room, and he just wanted to support his friend. Shuichi had slept a lot in the past few days and Kaito had spent most of his time with Maki. They had apparently gotten very close. Shuichi found himself saddened at the thought of his friends. Rantaro, Kaede, Kirumi, and Maki. They were gone, Shuichi didn't know them very well but he had still considered them his friends. Shuichi walked inside of the school and headed towards the basement stairs. It was dark and kind of spooky but Shuichi was pretty sure that Kaito needed a friend right now so he continued down the steps. It wasn't long until he heard a noise, it sounded like laughter. Kaito's laughter actually. Shuichi walked to the game room door and opened it only to find nothing. Voices were coming from behind the door in the back room so Shuichi walked up to it. He tried to make out the voices on the other side. "That's definitely a lie!" "No it's not! She really did!" Was Kokichi in there with Kaito? That's definitely who it sounded like. They sounded, almost like friends? Shuichi was pretty sure they hated each other but apparently not. He knocked on the door to make them aware of his presence. All the banter happening on the other side of the door came to a halt and Shuichi felt he should've just left.

He could hear shuffling on the other side of the door before it swung open revealing Kokichi. "Hi there Saihara-Chan! Whatcha doin out here at nighttime?" "Um I was looking for Kaito and Ryoma said he was down here.." "Nishishi yeah he is! We kicked Ryoma out so we could talk about you behind your back!" Shuichi looked past Kokichi and met eyes with Kaito. "Oh hey sidekick! Sorry we didn't have training tonight I just.. I honestly didn't feel up to it." Kaito shrugged and smiled sadly before continuing, "but uh this asshole found me being all mopey and actually attempted to cheer me up!" Kokichi pouted. "I can't have my rival being all mopey, that's no fun!" Shuichi chuckled. "Yeah sure Kokichi, and my name isn't Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars!" Kaito smiled, it was a forced smile but it was better than nothing. "Nishishi ah you idiot I was lying this entire time!" Kaito stared at him with a blank face, "no I don't think you were, you can tell more stories y'know. I enjoyed them." Kokichi looked to Kaito and then to Shuichi. He sighed dramatically. "Fine since you've begged me without stop I will tell you another story! But you'll both owe me big time! It's not everyday you get to hear a true story from an Ultimate Supreme Leader!" Kaito chuckled softly before sitting down on the couch in the middle of the room. He sat on the far right end and patted the seat next to him. Kokichi plopped down to the left of the couch leaving Shuichi to sit in the middle. "Alrighty then! Story timmeeee! Once upon a time there was a little girl named Maki! She was everyone's favorite big sister and she loved it!" Kokichi gestured wildly with his hands as he told the story. "Now Maki would never admit it but she loved all her little siblings! She tried to act all tough but she wasn't. One day a new kid arrived at the orphanage. She was a new ray of sunshine and at first Maki saw her as a threat!" Kokichi chuckled to himself, "Once she even told the girl to 'get out of my house' it was great! But as time passed the girl kept being nicer and nicer to miss Maki. Maki had always taken care of us all by herself but now she kind of had a helper! So w- all the kids played house. Maki and the new girl would take turns being the mom and dad, they were basically an old married couple in the form of children! Oh oh! There was one time Maki laughed so hard she peed herself! She was soooOo embarrassed! The best part is that she was laughing at a poop joke which she always insisted was 'so immature and unfunny you heathens'!" Kaito chuckled. "You have some pretty good stories of Maki Roll, Kokichi." The small boy chuckled. "Of course I do! I have all the best stories!" There was a moment of silence before Kaito spoke up again. "So you guys grew up together?" Kokichi choked on seemingly nothing. "Pft nah.. One of the members from my evil secret organization did! They told me allllll kinds of stories!" Shuichi watched as both Kaito and Kokichi tried to smile at each other, both smiles were noticeably forced. "So Kokichi," Shuichi started his question, "what was that member like?" Kokichi chuckled, "Oh he was an idiotic little shit! Everyone just couldn't bring themselves to hate him though, I never understood why... there's so many better members y'know? But yeah complete asshole." Kokichi seemed like he was about to say more but he stopped himself. "Well sidekick number three, we should do this again sometime but I'm getting tired." Kokichi looked confused for a moment before realizing what Kaito had called him. "I'm not your stinky sidekick! That's Shumai's job!" Kaito chuckled as he stood up. "You don't choose the sidekick life! The sidekick life chooses you!" "Oh I am DEFINITELY NOT a sidekick to an idiot such as yourself! I'm the one and only Ultimate Supreme Leader!" Shuichi smiles softly to himself, so Kokichi may have a soft side. An idea suddenly popped up into Shuichi's head. "OH UHM can you both follow me back out to the dorms for a minute?" Kokichi and Kaito stared at him and then each other. "Yeah okay I don't see why not." "I was headed back anyway." As they all headed out of the room Shuichi couldn't help but notice the bags under Kaito's eyes. The killing game was going to be hard but Shuichi promised Kaede that he would get everyone out. Now he was promising himself. He would get out of here with everyone. Kaito and Kokichi were making small talk as they walked, Kokichi rambling on about how he controls every country with his 10,000 member gang. They were almost back to the dorms now and Shuichi wished that Maki was here with them. Shuichi wished she could see the way Kaito continued fighting, how even though he looked pale and tired he kept laughing. Shuichi hoped that she was happy. Once they reached the dorms Shuichi told Kokichi and Kaito to wait. He ran into his room, grabbed what he needed and ran back out. "Alright so I thought if we all used these then maybe we could protect each other even from a distance." Kaito took the item from Shuichi and smiled softly. "Yeah that's a great idea number 2!" Kokichi looked surprised before also taking one. "You kept the walkie talkies?" "Well yeah I mean I wasn't sure if I could trust you but if Miu made them it would be rude to just throw them away." Kokichi chuckled. "You really are something Shumai.." Kaito spoke up next. "Well thanks a lot guys but I'm going to go to bed now! Goodnight!" "Aye Space Idiot don't forget to lock your door or I'll kill you~" Kaito looked at Kokichi for a second before yelling "no you won't!" As he closed his door. "Nishishi welp goodnight Shumai! Have horrible boreable nightmares!" Kokichi literally skipped to his room, which was extremely dangerous considering it was upstairs. Shuichi walked into his own room and sat down at his desk. He looked at the walkie talkie in his hand. Was Kokichi actually a friend now or was this another lie? Shuichi sighed as he put the device down and laid in his bed. He was very tired.

Shuichi woke up the next day to the end of the morning announcement. He slowly got up and was about to leave but he remembered the walkie talkie. He quickly grabbed it as he left the room. He headed towards the dining hall but was stopped by Kiibo. "Uhm Shuichi I would reconsider going in there, currently there is a fight occurring and as your friend I encourage you to stay out of it." Shuichi sighed before patting Kiibo on the back. "Thanks for the warning Kiibo but I'm going to need food anyway so I might as well see what they're fighting about." Kiibo nodded and followed Shuichi to the dining hall. As soon as they walked in they were greeted by many voices. "Nyah ha! The Student Council does know what's best!" "It's plain to see we are simply following Atua's will." "Gonta not sure he understands but Angie says this will help so Gonta agree!" "Ohmigawd you all are more stupid than I thought!" "Kokichi be nice!" "Degenerates shouldn't talk that way about Himiko!" "Nyeh I really don't care...." "it seems Angie's cult still has a ways to go." "That is incorrect! It's not a cult!" Shuichi made his way over to Kaito and Kokichi who were also standing with Ryoma. "What's going on?" "Angie has a cult now." "Nishishi yeah what Ryoma said!" Kaito shook his head. "Guys it's disrespectful to call it a cult even if it is one!" Shuichi was still confused. "Okay but why's everyone fighting?" "Miss cult leader wants to cancel all my nighttime fun! WAHHh shess sOo MeANNn!!" "Kokichi can you not. I already have a headache from you whining about taking the sticky notes down." "But it wasn't FuNnnNn Hosh-hoshh..." "never call me that again." "Sidekicks 3 and 4 please be quiet. I think something important is happening." Ryoma had a confused look but did as Kaito asked. They all looked towards where the ruckus had stopped without them noticing. Angie was standing above Kiibo who was on the floor. "Nyah ha I understand you are confused because you are a robot, but what you just said Atua would not like!" Kiibo looked at Angie with anger on his face. "I- I thought agreeing with you would make me your friend but you insulted Miu! I normally wouldn't care but you immediately followed that up with a robophobic remark! I will report this to the higher ups as soon as possible! Just because you have a god does not give you the right to insult people for no reason!" Angie sighed, "I do not believe that my belief in Atua gives me the ability to tell the truth! He simply helps guide me to make the right decisions!" The room was tense. "Uhm Angie.. you fighting with people is a pain so can we go worship Atua in your new lab or whatever..." Angie nodded and skipped away. Himiko, Tenko, Tsumugi, and Gonta followed. Everyone was still confused. "I should go apologize I did not mean to split up the group." Kiibo muttered as he walked away.
