Sarah POV:

It has been a few weeks since the whole office situation went down and Chase was still clingy I guess you could say. And it was seriously making me worried for him, and so I had asked Hunter to watch Jace for a evening so we could talk about what was really bothering him. I know he had his demons through everything that has happened just like me and I tried to be there for him but I feel like I had let him down by just piling even more of my problems onto him. As Hunter was putting Jace in his truck I ask,

"How do I even go about this? He is so prideful and stubborn and I have a feeling he is going to be defensive and it's just going to be a fight. And I don't want to fight with him, I just want to help him like he has helped me. Plus the last time we fought it didn't exactly end well."

I had to shake my head to clear it of those memories, I look back up as Hunter walks up and places his hands on my shoulders and softly says,

"I agree, he tries to always be the strong one not just for you but for everyone and he needs to realize that he needs someone to lean on too, and that's you. Yes you have your problems too but that doesn't mean you can't be there for him. And I agree he will get defensive but just hold your ground and keep your cool no matter what because he is hurting too and just needs to let it go. You are the toughest person I have ever known Sarah, but you have meet your match with him."

I nod while taking a deep breath and look towards where my son was sleeping in his car seat and I say,

"I know, it's going to be a long night either way for both of us, seeing as we haven't had a night without Jace with us. It makes me nervous and worried and just fidgety."

Hunter chuckled and kissed my temple and whispers,

"He will be fine momma bear. But at anytime you want to call you can and I will understand ok?"

I nod and mutter,

"Thank you Hunter, now you should probably get going before Chase gets home."

He nods and with a hug he was gone. I let out a shaky sigh as I head back into the house and start on dinner. I was almost done with the chicken when I heard Chase come home. And normally I would smile and greet him along with Jace laughing and reaching to him but I was way too nervous to do anything but nervously smile as he walked in. He looked at me with a concerned look and walked up to me, while pecking my cheek he asks,

"What's wrong? And where is Jace?"

I turn the stove off and place the chicken on our plates and softly say,

"Hunter has him for the night, we need to talk Chase."

The silence that followed made my stomach twist with nerves as I take the plates and sit them on the table. I sit down and I just keep my eyes on the table as I hear him start moving and he sits down too. After what felt like hours he speaks up,

"Sarah what's going on? What's so important that you had to send off our son?"

I almost flinch at his stern tone but I managed to stop myself from doing that. I close my eyes for a second before whispering,

"I need to understand what is going through your mind. What is it that's bugging you, to make you act the way you have been ever since that night in the office. I know it's not just that, because there had been signs something might be wrong before that and I am sorry that I am just now noticing. So please just tell me what's wrong?"

Dead silence answered me back making my heart fall to my stomach. I was about to say something else when he cut me off,

"Nothing is wrong Sarah. Can't I just want to be around you without there being something wrong? Damn nothing is wrong so quit trying to start shit!"
