Thirty One

Previously:
"He got faster" David frowned. "Let's attack to see if we'll find any fault we can use against him" David ordered.

"Yes sir!" They attacked.

Efe landed right beside haggard-looking David panting like her life depended on it. It did. "This is pointless. I can't get any attack within five feet of him. I mean his defense is tight and his attacks aren't exactly soft" Efe massaged her healing shoulder. "I'll just have to keep attacking" groaned Efe in frustration.

"Don't be stupid... You're being reckless!" David scolded "This isn't a game.. You could actually die, do not attack foolishly because you can heal. I swear if you reach your healing limit after taking a strong hit, I won't come to help you!" He stared at her. She could tell he was angry at her from the way the vein on his forehead popped.

'David's correct. I should actually take this seriously. It would be bad if I die because I'm playing around.' Efe frowned, staring at James in the air. He smirked at her from that distance. He was getting bored with these kids.

"Now tell me what you noticed... Even if it is the slightest thing, it might be useful"

Efe sighed "I tried attacking from the back one time but he dodged and knocked me out of the sky with that rippling thing he's shooting. It was almost as if he had eyes at the back of his head.. Or maybe he just senses anything that comes close to him"

"What? He dodged?" David frowned "He doesn't dodge my attacks, he just sends it right back. Why does he dodge.." He drifted off, mumbling to himself

"What's the matter?" What is he muttering...

"THAT'S IT!" He suddenly exclaimed. "Matter!" James landed. He had been wondering what they were talking about.

"Eh?" Efe was lost.

"He keeps dodging because he can't control something that isn't a substance.."

"I still do not get you"

"Your daggers and axes and everything you use to fight is made out of your power not any earthly material.. So he can't control it! Do you get me now?"

"Nope.. I don't. I'm hearing hieroglyphics"

"You can't hear hieroglyphics.."

"Exactly. Now talk in a way I'll understand"

"Okay… You know gravity is what keeps things in place along with other stuff. Now you see how gravity can't bring smoke down mainly because its weightless, that's the same thing with your power and his. He can't control something without weight…"

"Oh so.. You're..."

"Yes I control matter and so does he." David looked straight ahead. "If I can keep him overwhelmed with the amount of things I send at him then maybe you can squeeze something through his defense"

"I understand everything but why are you talking about gravity?" Efe scratched her head.

"Efe! He controls gravity. Don't you see?" Frustrated, he whined.

"What's the problem kids? I thought this was going to be fun but I guess not.. I haven't even broken a sweat!"

"But.. How can you attack from every corner? Never mind that.. " she waved him off pointing towards her head.

"Okay" David winked at Efe.

"What's up big guy? Are you tired already?" Efe taunted, flapping her massive wings.

"I would not even call this a warm up" James white sleeves came off in a swift thug.

"That's more like it" Efe took off in his direction with speed. Daggers and arrows formed at her will shooting at her opponent non stop. Even though he maneuvered his way through them, he knew he would get hit if he stayed on the ground. His shoes dug the earth pushing him into the air; with a clap, the space, four feet around him in every direction was shielded with a forcefield. Nothing got in. While the outside of the circle blocked attacks, the inside however, was zero G. Allowing him to move freely and propel himself around with the force he produced through his legs.

Efe still fired shots while blocking off his attacks with shields. She felt like she was doing all she could to dodge but then she looked over at James and saw that he was having fun watching her struggle.

Just then David came to the rescue with rapid-fire of massive boulders that shook the earth as they detached. He hopped on one of them, breaking the others into smaller pieces. When James turned to him, David bombarded him with countless attacks which he counterattacked with. Efe wove in and out of both defenses and attacks trying to find a crack in James' defense, except, he wasn't showing any weaknesses. A bat formed in Efe's hand as she flew upwards, where she could overlook everything. "C'mon break!"

James sent waves and waves of sharp rocks at David with so much force that they flew out of the airport and destroyed buildings and houses in a straight line.

"You need to stop this! You're killing people!" Pleaded david wearily. he was getting tired. His wall shield was faltering under the ripples of force James shot his way, "Arrgghh!" he cried in pain. Blood oozed out the gash on his leg and side. his body was nearing its limit. 'I'm going to have to get closer if i want to end this'. He took in a deep breath then fired heavy rampaging stones in all directions. While James was preoccupied with those, David headed right for him. 'Efe NOW!' He called to her, at the same time shooting rocks at her. Efe imbued the rocks with rage then waited for her time to attack. James sensed a presence coming from behind, he turned to deliver a punch but no one was there, save for a large rock. With a wave of his wrist, the rock stood still inches away from him, his powers vibrating on the rock giving off a brown hue. Something was off, he scanned the field but couldn't find David. In the moment he realized he had been played, the large rock broke open piercing James' upheld hand, momentarily blocking his vision. Now that James couldn't see, both Efe and David launched their final attacks. They had succeeded in making him loosen his defense, still it was only a matter of time before James tightened it up again. Blood dropped to the ground as James fell out of the sky. Efe's daggers kept slicing him up while David pulled earth into the sky.

With a loud 'Umph' James hit the damaged ground. Echoes of falling rocks could be heard miles away by the panicking crowd but then after the final THUD, Silence. Shortly followed by the heavy sound of rain. Efe fell where David laid in the rain, her wounds were slowly covering up. She held David's hand as she shared her healing powers with him again.

"We did it!" She breathed out.

"We did!" He smiled "Mostly me... Look how beat up I got. I can feel the deep wound on my leg" Efe laughed at him.

"I'm sorry, pretty boy" Her heart stopped.

"Do you feel that?" David asked.

"How...????" They both sat up. Still holding hands.

"How.. Is.. He.. Still Alive!!!!!"

CRACK!!!

WHOOSH!!

BOOM!!!!!

The earth creaked then cracked open.

A sudden gust of wind blew, sending shivers up the siblings skin.

The earth rose in irregular sizes to reveal James. An enormous amount of power and overwhelming pressure radiated off his shirtless form.

"How is he able to move after all we did?" Efe questioned in disbelief. Her hand hovered in front of her to stop things from flying into her eyes. The pressure of the wind increase ten times blowing every single thing in his path away.
