Chapter 2: The original Intoner

Murai POV:

A few hours had passed. The sun was starting to set. The girl was still unconscious. Her dragon seemed pretty calm. He sounded like he was a toddler then compared to Lailah. While the dragons were outside, I was making sure this mystery girl didn't try to kill me again. She looked like she was still recovering from an injury. I applied her medicine to some small cuts. It was working but, it was a slow process. Whatever her injuries were, they were not normal wounds.

Murai: (Who are you?)

Then she started talking in her sleep.

Mysterious girl: No... No, d-don't... Please... Don't leave me! Micheal!

She suddenly jumped up and still felt pain from her injuries. I tried to help but she just swats my hand away.

Murai: Take it easy. You've been out for awhile. Those are some injuries.

Mysterious girl: Don't mess with me! If you came to kill me, get over with.

Murai: I didn't come here to kill you. I was only following a hunch.

Mysterious girl:( A hunch?)

Murai: Let's start with introductions. Im Murai Tetsu.

Mysterious girl: My name is-

Murai: I know. Your Zero, right?

She looked at me confused at how I knew her name.

Murai: Your dragon talks a lot.

Zero: *Exhales* He should know when to shut up. What do you want anyway?

Murai: I'm trying to find out about these five intoners.

Zero: ....... What do you wanna know?

Murai: Where they are and how I can stop them.

judging by look she's giving me, she's not taking me serious.

Zero: ...Good luck with that.

Murai: Why's that?

Zero: ...You'll need a dragon. And mines not for sale.

Murai: Good thing I have my own.

Zero: Ugh?

Murai That purple dragon out there with yours. She's with me.

It seemed like this was getting me nowhere. I should probably just leave her alone.

Murai: If you don't trust me, I understand. I'll leave you alone.

Zero: .....

I then got up and left the cabin, closing the door behind me.

Murai: Well that could have gone better.

Then, Lailah came to check on me.

Lailah: So How did go? Anything?

Murai: How do you think!? It seems like she doesn't trust me.

Lailah: Maybe we need to trust them first. For now, let's get some rest and start our search for the Intoner's in the morning.

I then began to get some rest, not knowing that my conversation with Lailah was overheard.

The Next Morning/ Zero's POV:

I woke up from another nightmare.

Zero: Ugh ...Damn Nightmares.

I could feel that my wounds were fully healed, and my new arm seemed good to go. Once I was ready I looked at my sword.

Zero: It's been an entire year... And I'm still dreaming of him. Michael... What do I do?

I was then ready. My eye still hurt like a bitch, but It's time.

Zero: (It's time to finish what I started, and put an end to the Intoners.)

As I went to open my door I noticed that guy just sitting. Almost like he's waiting for something. I also noticed Mikhail rolling around in the mud even though I told him not to. I wondered what he was really up to.

Zero: (Why is he so curious about the Intoners? Not that I really care but I'll see what he wants.)

I opened the door and he looked back.

Murai's POV:

As the sun was coming up I thought of looking more at a book with records of this world while I waited for Lailah to get back from patrolling the area. If they can use magic in this world, then that must be how I got here. And maybe how can get home. I hear the door of the cabin open and that girl walked out of it. In the sunlight she was kinda attractive. I closed the book and got up and tried to talk again.

Murai: Your up. How are you feeling?

Zero: ...... I'm fine. Where's your dragon?

Murai: She flew off ahead to look for any before she and I leave.

I looked back at the view.

Zero: ........So are you still going to go after the Intoners?

Murai: ... I don't have anywhere else to go so yeah I am.

She looked at me with untrustworthy expression. She then raised her sword at me.

Zero: ....Come with me.

I followed Zero, confused. She took me to a little open area.

Zero: Draw your sword!

Murai: huh?

Zero: If you can beat me, then I'll believe what you say. If I win, you tell me who you really are? And why?

Murai: ...Deal.

Mikhail: Ummm..... Zero...

Zero: Shut it dummy!

I drew my sword and was ready to fight. She comes at me fast. She swings as I duck and swing my sword. Zero jumps and tries to attack me from behind. I react quick and block the attack. She was so strong. I was almost envious of her. As I blocked her attacks and got my guard broken she comes at so fast. Her sword was off by one millimeter from slicing my throat.

Murai: Ugh?!.... (She's strong) ..... I guess I lose.

Zero: If you wanna kill an Intoner, you gotta really make sure you kill them. It's you or them, and they won't hesitate. You get it?

Murai: ....... Yeah. ... I think I understand.

She lowers her sword.

Murai: You seem like you know about the Intoner's yourself.

Zero: It's because your looking at one.

Murai: (WHAT?! She's an Intoner too?)

I was shocked and surprised. She was one of them, but she looked so beautiful. Then Lailah returned.

Lailah: Murai, are you alright?

Murai: Yes Lailah. I'm fine.

Then, Zero grabs my collar.

Zero: I won. Now tell me what I wanna know.

Murai: (Well... I guess I have no choice.) Well.... You see....
