Chapter 3: Working together

Murai's POV:

Zero had just beaten me with ease. And now, I just found out she's an Intoner. After she beat me she asked me to explain why I'm looking for them. It wasn't easy to explain to her. She grabbed me by my collar and kinda forced me to explain. So I did, I told her that came from another world and everything leading up to this. As I told her, she crossed her arms and looked away. At first I thought she thought It was bullshit or something. But she didn't seem like I was lying to her.

Murai: But anyway, that's basically it.

Zero: .... You don't seem like your lying.

Murai: (Ok, that seems very weird for her to just believe a story like that.)

Zero: (It can't be... can it?) Follow me.

She then walks past me in the direction of the coast.

Murai: Wait! Where are we going?

Zero: You wanna know what's going on, right? You'll get your answer if you follow me.

I then followed her as Lailah and Mikhail went on ahead.

Zero: Oh and if you slow me down, your dead.

Murai: Geez... ( A little too serious much.)

We then went on the path both by air and ground with our dragons. The path was along way to the beach. We approached a cliff that had a good view of the coastline. To my surprise, their were battleships that look like early war-type battleships.

Murai: Battleships...

Zero: Yeah, their going to pose a problem.

Murai: That must be how the soldiers are getting onto land.

Zero: Hey Dummy! Take out the ships!

Mikhail: Okay.

Murai: Lailah, Go with him and give him support!

Lailah: What about you?

Murai: We'll handle the footsoilders on the ground.

Lailah: Very well.

And they flew off to deal with the battleships while we dealt with the soldiers.

Soldier Captain: There she is, take her down!

Zero: Come try it assholes!

She quickly rushed in and slashed straight through them without hesitating. Then, I noticed some soldiers, ready to take me on.

Murai: (Now it's my turn!)

As they came at me, I block the first soldier, knocking his sword out of his hand it hits the guy on the right in the head. Then I slash straight threw the third one with ease. I flew the blood off my sword. As I looked back at Zero I noticed her watching, but quickly turned away.

Zero: (Not bad.)

We then continued to cut through the foot soldiers. After that mess, we left one alive to interrogate. We put him against a wall and Zero pointed her blade at him.

Zero: Where is Five?

Soldier Captain: I'm not tell you anything you damn demon!

As Zero raised her sword to kill him. I stopped her and approached him myself.

Murai: Stop wasting our time, and tell us where's the Intoner?

Soldier Captain: Go fu-

Before he could finish his sentence, I pushed my foot right on to his shoulder and collar bone. After applying a little more pressure it broke and he screamed in pain.

Murai: You want your bones, I want answers. Now, answer me!

Soldier Captain: W-Wait! ...Along the coast, a pathway that leads to a colosseum. That's where you'll find lady Five.

Murai: Thank you.

I then knocked him out.

Zero: Well, thanks for handling that.

Murai: It's just natural. If their life is threatened.

Zero: Hmm noted.

And that we took a quick break before continuing forward. Lailah and Mikhail had returned we all rested.

(music to set the tone.)

Lailah wanted to make sure I was not hurt. But, to be honest I was more worried about her. She told me she was fine, for a dragon. Their were still some unanswered questions, so I asked Zero.

Murai: Zero.

Zero: Hm?

Murai: These Intoner's, are they named after numbers or something?

Zero: You got that right.

Murai: Does that mean you're all related?

Zero: ......In a sense, yes.

Murai: (In a sense?) And this Five, what she like?

Zero: She's the slutty type.

Murai: ......(Oh! Great...)

I didn't question her anymore to not upset her. After a little rest. We continued through the coast. Another battleship came close dropping off soldiers and monsters. Beating one these large monsters was not going to be easy. I saw Zero, she seemed to be in a rush to die. But it looked like she knew what she was doing. So... I followed her lead. I don't know what was driving me to follow her, but I did.

Zero: (Impressive.) Pfft. She thinks that will be enough to stop me?

Once the monster was defeated and the soldiers dead, something was rising from the

Mikhail: Ah! Zero look! Theirs something coming out of the water. It's rising!

What looked like a whole ancient civilization rose up from the sea.

Murai: Interesting...

Zero: Their really rolling out the red carpet. Alright Five, Let's see what you got.

I then noticed something.

Murai: Look out!

I pushed Zero out of the way and got shot and the arm with an arrow but at the same time I shot a burst of energy in the direction, killing the archer. I quickly pulled the arrow out and covered the wound.

Zero: You alright?

Murai: ...Yeah. It hurts a bit but I'm alright. What was that I shot out of my arm.

Lailah: You used magic as a projectile.

Murai: Seriously? ....Whoa...

Zero: That could be useful. Come on. Theirs an Intoner to kill.

Once I bandaged my arm, I was good to go. We then continued onward to where this Intoner was.
