Chapter 7: Mountain range tracking

Murai's POV:

The pathway lead us straight towards Four's fortress. We got a good look from above and looked at soldiers training and preparing for anything.

Zero: So this is where Four is hiding....

Murai: Looks like their prepared for anything.

Lailah: Murai, Hop on my back!

Murai: Huh?

Lailah: You'll be safer and learn how to fight with mounted combat.

Murai: (I never fight on her back before. This might be a good time to try it out) Let's go!

Mikhail: Look out! Bad guys, everywhere!

Zero got on top of Mikhail and both him and Lailah set off.

Soldier A: It's Zero! And she's got back up!

Soldier B: They've got dragons with them!

Soldier C: Damn it! What do we do against that-

The soldiers were turned into ashes by Lailah's fire. Mikhail came down in the middle of a group of soldiers, crushing them instantly. It was more like a battlefield full of fire and blood.

Zero: Four! Het your ass out here now!

Murai: Something seems off. Lailah, can you sense anything?

Lailah: ....I'm not sensing any other Intoner aside from Zero.

Mikhail: Me too. Are we sure she's even here?

Soldier D: Bring out the Hyper cannon! Kill them! Kill the dragons!

Zero: *Exhales* Here we go again...

Soldier E: Sir! We have conformation of Lady Four's retreat!

Murai: She fled?

Zero: Son of a.... Sounds like Four caught us with our pants down.

Dito: Yeesh. Definitely not our finest hour....

Murai: We should finish off these cannons and go after her.

Lailah: Very well. They shall burn to ashes.

After destroying the cannons we then went off in search of where Four went. We moved further into the mountain range, following the faint sense of an Intoner. It lead us to a range covered in snow. It also gave us time to warm ourselves up and rest abit. I was looking around making sure we weren't spotted by the enemy.

Murai: Looks like we'll be alone for awhile.

Zero: Good. Now Dummy, are you sure Four is here.

Mikhail: Um, probably?

Zero: Probably isn't good enough.

Murai: What about you, Lailah?

Lailah: Well, Mikhail and I are the only ones who can sense where the Intoners are. And to be honest, this feeling is stronger now.

Murai: What do you mean Lailah?

Lailah: ....It's almost like a craving.

Dito: Hey dummy, you feeling anything strange?

Mikhail: Oh yeah! It makes me all excited with delight.

Zero: ....Stop teaching him things, Dito. We'll rest up before going forward.

After Zero said that, we rested for a bit. I feel asleep next to the fire to keep warm.

Zero's POV:

I was sitting down resting. I looked over at Murai for a minute and then looked away. I then looked at him again. I don't know but, I couldn't take my eye of him. I still don't get why he's tagging along after all he saw of me. I went over to him while he was asleep. I kneeled down and just observed him. 

Zero: ..........

I don't know what I was feeling, but it felt like the same thing as before when he grabbed my arm. He was warm. It was something calm and caring deep down, I could feel it. I touched his arm and felt it again, that warmth. Suddenly he moved in his sleep, my arm slipped and was on top his arm as he moved. Next thing I knew, I was on top of him. It was like I couldn't take my eyes off him.

Zero: .........(What am I doing?)

I could feel something in my chest as I gently put my hands on his face. It almost feels like ......a desire. Then he starts wakes up and looks at me. I pause for a moment and then get off him and look away.

Murai's POV:

Murai: Huh......What were you doing?

Zero: Nothing, idiot!

Murai: ...........?

I didn't know what she was doing but, she seemed to back off pretty quickly and looked like she didn't want to admit anything.

Zero: We're going.

Murai: ...Okay.

Mikhail and Lailah headed into the air while we traversed the mountain landscape. We found a cave entrance that lead inside the mountains.

Dito: Yknow, maybe we should've ridden on the dragons after all.

Murai: Didn't you hear what they said?

Zero: Yeah, and besides, It's cold as hell up there.

We went through a door and were suddenly hit with a huge snow storm. The snow in this mountain was pretty thick to walk in.

Murai: I never thought the mountains here.

Zero: I can't even walk in this. (Sighs) Damn snow.

Dito: Heh. Nice thought, but it's not gonna happen. We should have had your dragons melt all the snow for us.

Zero: Yeah right. They'd probably miss and burn us to cinders.

Murai: ...Lailah wouldn't miss. She never misses.

Zero: Hmph.....

As we continued to hike through the terrain and saw something up ahead. 

Murai: Huh? Hey, theirs something happening to those soldiers up ahead.

What looked like ghosts or spirits were taking over their bodies.

Murai: What the?!

Dito: Ah crap, Spirits.

Murai: Then let's take them out.

We readied ourselves for a fight. I realized as a swung my dragon-sword it killed them instantly. Unfortunately for the soldiers, they died with the spirits.

Murai: So you think Mikhail will be alright up there, Zero?

Zero: He'll be fine. He's actually tougher then he looks. I'm sure we'll see them both again, soon. ...Somet

I looked at her a look of concern.

Zero: ...Sometime. ...Probably.

Murai: If you say so.

We then moved onward, through the mountains, we couldn't contact our dragons with this blizzard. We were going to have to do this the hard way.
