Chapter 21: You'll....leave me?

Murai's POV: 

We decided to go on foot the rest of the way on foot.

Murai: Lailah! You and Mikhail support us from the air.

Lailah: Understood.

They then flew off while we dealt with the soldier's on the ground. 

Murai: This is city really is in ruins...

We found a pathway that lead toward the center of the city. Zero believed One was in the center of it all. We followed her as we headed across a long structure like a bridge.

Zero: This leads to where One is.

Murai: Good.

Zero: Ah... (Theirs that feeling again...)

Murai: When this is over-

Zero: - You'll go back to where you came from, right?

Murai: Hm?

Zero: You'll go back... And I'll.... be left here.

Zero then stopped walking. We all wondered what was going on with her. I walked up to her.

Murai: What are you talking about?

Zero: Shut up.

I try to grab her hand but she swats it away.

Murai: Hm?

Zero: I said SHUT UP!

She turns around I see her face red and she pushes me back, crying. 

Zero: Just go! Just leave, why don't you! I can do this myself. I don't need you!

It's clear this was very out of character for her. She was letting her emotions get the better of her. I wasn't dense, but I think I know why she's acting like this. She has feelings for me and she doesn't want to admit it. But, I can't stay here. I tried to approach as she tried to show she wasn't crying or upset.

Murai: Zero I...

Suddenly, I notice out of the corner of my eye to the left, a fireball came in our direction.

Murai: Ah! Look out!

I pushed her out of the way, but the fireball was aimed at the structure. All of us began to fall but then, I feel something grab me. I look up and was One's dragon. It was capturing me. 

Lailah: Murai!

Zero's POV:

Mikhail: Zero!

Zero: Don't worry about me! You go help Lailah take that piece of shit! And all of you get back safe! Even Murai!

Mikhail: Y-You got it!

Mikhail followed Lailah and both of them went after One's dragon. 

Zero: (That was stupid of me.... God... I'm such an idiot!) 

We continued forward to find another pathway to deal to get to One. We found a way up, guarded by solider's. We killed then and found the entrance to the Shrine. But then a monster came up and was guarding it.

Dito: You rotten dog... I'll kill ya! And then I'll kill ya again!

Decadus: Despite all your anti-social bluster, Dito, I see you're still fighting hard.

Dito: Eh, I figured I might as well help Z out as long as I'm here.

Decadus: You see, Dito? The power of genuine friendship concurs all!

Dito: Yeah, yeah. Don't get your panties in a bunch about it. You're creepin' me out.

It was pain in the ass but we dealt with this dog by cutting off it's heads and let it bleed out. We walked up to the entrance to the shrine.

Zero: Well, this is it.

Octa: It's what my lady?

Zero: I won't be needing you anymore. I can handle the rest by myself.

Decadus: M-My lady, please, If your worried about us, we--

Zero: No. It's unavoidable. Disciples can't remain in human form without an Intoner's power. Sooner or later, you'll disappear. So before that happens... I'm giving you your old forms back.

I moved my hand and turned them back to what they original were. Doves. They then flew off.

Zero: ...Goodbye. 

Just before I walked in, what I said to Murai in a rage got to me.

Zero: (Goddamnit you idiot! Get ahold of yourself. Why is he in my thoughts, now? Maybe... I can... go with him, if he does leave.) 

I then went inside to find Murai and kill One.

Murai's POV:

I was beginning to wake up. As I slowly opened my blue eyes I noticed I was bound up again, inside a church of some kind.

Murai: *Sighs* One of these again, huh?

One: Don't bother struggling. Those magic bindings will tighten the more you struggle.

Murai: ........

One: Now, who are you? And why are you with the traitor?

Murai: Traitor? Zero? I don't see her as a traitor?

One: She murder's countless people, even her own flesh and blood...

Murai: And your one to talk. You order soldiers to torture and take whatever you want. Your no savior! Who gave you the rig- AAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!

The bindings began to tighten.

One: Then you can tell me later. Once I've dealt with Zero. Then, you can who you are and where you came from.

I could feel my vision beginning to fade again. Until, everything went black from all the pain around my wrists, chest, ankles and neck.

Murai: *Panting* *panting*

One: You're still conscious, even though you can't open your eyes. But you still won't last.

Murai: (Lailah... Mikhail.... ......Zero.... I'm sorry.)

I blacked out.

Back then I didn't know. I didn't know that after defeating One, it wasn't the end. I also didn't entire truth about Zero. And the choice she had me choose.

Zero's POV:

I went through soldier after soldier. Cutting them down like they were nothing. All to get to the center of the Cathedral. Once they were dealt with I went further on ahead to kill One. Through some large doors I found her and Murai, bounded up.
