Chapter 6: Going forward

Murai's POV:

We decided to rest after what just happened. I was sitting by the fire and Zero hadn't woken up yet. I was still trying to wrap my head around what happend. Something like that was terrifying to witness. 

Lailah: So, now we know why normal attack won't work on them. It's powerful magic that's regenerating their wounds.

Murai: ...It seems like it. It's not human... that's for sure.

Lailah: ...How are you feeling about all of this, boy?

Murai: ....I'm not sure how I feel right now.

Zero Eventually woke up and approached me. I was just gloomy looking at the fire.

Zero: ....You don't have any questions?

Murai: .......

Zero: You scared?

Murai: .......I'm not scared. It's kinda hard to ask what just happened with what I just witnessed. ....So that's why your wounds can heal so fast. That flower is the source of it, isn't it?

Zero: ...You catch on quick.

Dito: Sooo, what about that arm of your's is fake Zero?

Zero: Yep.

Murai: Then how do you move it so easily?

Zero hesitated to tell me. I don't know why she won't keep telling me. 

Zero: .....There's a type of parasite. It attaches between my arm and body.

Murai: ( That kinda explains how she can move it like a real arm.) So how come your other arm won't regenerate?

Zero: ....Theirs reason it won't....

Murai: (A reason?)

Zero: Anyway, all we wound up finding was just a three-headed mutt.

Mikhail: Hey Zero! I was flying around earlier, trying to be helpful and stuff. And Lailah and I saw a huge shrine over in that direction! It looked big. Really big!

Lailah: We assume that maybe that's where the Intoner is.

Dito: Hey, yeah. I've heard something about that. They say that the shrine in the Land of Mountains spread out like a plaza.

Murai: Sooo, we go north?

Zero: ...Alright, let's go.

As we were getting ready and packing up, I could sense out of the corner of my eye Zero just looking at me. I always had a feeling if I was being watched or not. As soon as I turned around, she turned the other way and went on a head. Along the trail, we got a good look the shrine.

Murai: Mikhail wasn't kidding. It is spread out.

Dito: Damn. It look at the size of that place... Your sister be real scared of dyin'.

More lackey soldier's came to try and stop us. We cut them down and continued on our way to the shrine to find Four. We were crossing a bridge but it appeared to be barricaded up to prevent anyone from coming through.

Zero: Shit. This barricade's in the way.

Mikhail: Ooh! Let me help! Let me help, Zero!

Zero: Go for it.

Mikhail then charged up his fire to try and destroy the barrier. But I realized he was charging to much.

Murai: Ahhh Mikhail Wait-

Mikhail fired and destroyed the barrier but also destroyed the bridge and we began to fall down the chasm. 

Zero: You DUMBASS!

Murai: Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! LAILAH!!!!!

Lailah swooped down and I landed on her back. Zero kept falling. Lailah descended more so that I could catch her. As we went down fast, Lailah opened her wings to stop us and Zero landed in my arms. Lailah then flew us to the next platform and landed. I still held Zero like princess. She opened her eyes, and was a bit surprised and blushed a bit. I let her go, trying not get punched in the face.

Murai: Y-Your welcome.

Zero: ................

Mikhail: Are you guys okay?

Zero: Okay? Your an idiot. Come on, Four's waiting.

Dito: Well, that was some rough sailing right there.

Murai: Dito? What are you doing here?

Zero: How come you didn't get caught up in the collapse?

Dito: Well, I figured your pal there wasn't smart enough to blow up just the barricade. So I hung back to see what would happen. ...I mean duh?

Zero: Don't "duh" us, asshole!

Murai: Come on!

We continued on foot and got through parts of the mountain and noticed something in the distance. It was Four's shrine.

Zero: That must be Four's citadel there.

Murai: Looks like it.

Mikhail: Um guys? I don't think we can get in the normal way.

Zero: What do mean?

Lailah: It's her song. It seems like it's putting up some kind of invisible barrier.

Zero: Hmph. She thinks she's goddamn clever, does she?

Murai: We'll probably have to find another way in. Lailah, Mikhail, you two find another way in, if there is one.

Mikhail: Okay!

Lailah: Understood.

And they flew off.

We continued on through the tunnel and found more soldiers waiting for us. As we kept fighting them they surrounded us.

Soldier: We've got you surrounded! Give up now!

Zero: Tsk!

Murai: What do we do?

Suddenly the wall above the soldier fell right on top of them crushing them. It was Mikhail that crushed them. Lailah comes through another section of wall and crush and burns the remain soldiers. 

Murai: Ah! Carful you two.

Zero You wanna bring the whole place down on us!?

Mikhail: Everyone's in a panic, huh?

Zero: And the perfect time for us to strike.

Dito: Ha ha ha! Man, this is the best. I love kicking a guy when he's down!

Once the carnage was done, We found a passageway that was leading us to center of the shrine.
