Chapter 24: Flower

Murai's POV:

I woke and looked outside it was morning. As I leaned up I noticed a tug on my arm. I looked to my left and see a sleeping Zero with her arm right between her breasts. I blushed a bit but they were kinda... soft. I tried to move my arm carefully so she can sleep. she seemed like she hadn't had a good night's rest for awhile.

I closed the door and let her rest. I went outside to go see how Lailah and Mikhail were. Once I went to where they were hiding, They appeared from their resting spots. Lailah came to me in order to check on me.

Lailah: Murai. You're awake. How are you feeling?

Murai: I'm alright. What about you? You were more hurt then me.

Lailah: I am fine. Still healing of course.

Murai: And Mikhail?

Lailah: He'll be fine. He's a growing dragon. He'll be back to full strength.

Murai: That's good. Well, I just came to check on you since were hurt all for me.

Lailah: Your too kind.

She moved her head onto my shoulder as her of thanking me.

Lailah: Zero brought you back to this village and watched over you.

Murai: Yeah. By the look of her, it looks like she didn't get a proper rest.

Lailah: Open your eyes, boy. She has feelings for you. Even though she won't admit it.

Murai: ...I know. I know now.

Lailah: So, what will you do now?

Murai: I'll still help her see this through. It's obvious she doesn't want to tell me what happens after she kills the Intoners. My guess is it's something she doesn't want to happen.

Lailah: Hmmm. Regardless, I will still help you. I owe you for saving my live.

Lailah moved her head closer nuzzling Murai as he comforted her.

Murai: Thank you, Lailah.

I returned to the Village and went back to the room I was staying in. I checked on Zero and she hadn't woken up yet. I could see her hair was beautiful when it wasn't tied up. I heard my stomach growled, I realized I hadn't eaten anything yet. So I made breakfast.

Zero's POV:

I started waking up from a deep sleep. I didn't have dream or anything. It just felt like a deep sleep. I remembered alittle bit from last night. I then remembered I kissed Murai. I blushed and shook my head.

Zero: *Sighs* What the hell is wrong with me?

I walked down the stairs and saw food on the table.

Murai: Your awake. You've been asleep for quite abit.

Zero: ......Did you make this?

Murai: Yeah. It's nothing special. Just something I put together. Eat up.

Murai's POV:

Zero sat down ad tried what I made for her.

Zero: It's good.

Their was still abit of awkwardness from last night. We didn't look at eachother.

Murai/Zero: So....

Murai: You go first.

Zero: *Sighs* I think in a couple days we should go back and fight One.

Murai: Why so sudden? What's gotten into you?!

Zero: Nothing. I just want to kill her.

Murai: .......I don't think your telling me the truth.

Zero: Why is this important to you all of us?!

Murai: Because it has to do with why you kissed me last and acted like a damsel in distress. The Zero I know is strong. And she wouldn't take any of that shit lying down!

Zero: Ah.......!

She looked down and then grabbed her flower.

Accord: It has to do with how much time she has left, until she's consumed by the Flower.

Accord suddenly appeared and scared us both.

Zero: Accord, No!

Murai: What does she mean by that Flower? Zero.... Tell me!

Accord: He deserves to know. You have to tell him or else it will consume you.

Accord then walked out of the room.

Zero then had a tear come down her eye as she sat back down.

Zero: *Sighs* It all started two years ago...

Zero's POV:

August 21, 998 AD

Zero: You see... the first time I saw this flower, was the day I died. ...Now I'm just a corpse being kept alive by the flower's magic. ... a corpse.

Murai: Wha?!

Zero: My brain, my heart, my body. It's all being kept in motion by the flower. I'm... I'm no longer alive in any real sense of the word.

Murai: .....But how? ......What's so special about this flower?

Zero: This flower is a product of something greater. A calamity that threatens the entire world. It's growing. Feeding off me. Eventually it's going to consume me entirely, and once that happens, once it's fully grown, It's going to destroy the world.

Murai: .........................................................

Zero: When I realized I was infected after I finding out the truth beyond it's purpose, I tried to kill myself. Well, techinacally I was already dead, but... yeah. I tried to rip out of my eye but, It had a mind of its own and reacted. It sprouted these children. Five little girls suddenly appeared.

Murai: ........ To prevent you from killing yourself, It made copies of itself.

Zero: ...Right. And that's how I ended up with my Sisters. Of course they weren't anymore alive then I was. And now the oldest corpse is running around, killing the others. Heh... Insane. Isn't it?

Murai Moved his head down and clenched his fists.

Zero: So, I decided to kill my sisters. And then destroy this Flower once and for all. ....I figured I started all of this. I might as well finish it. That's the long and short of it. That's what this whole thing is about.

I started to cry again.

Murai's POV:

I couldn't believe it. This whole time, that flower was using her and took control over her life.

Zero: Do you understand now? Why kissed you? ...It's because I don't have much time left...

Murai: .....

Zero: (Crying) I kissed you. And I couldn't be happy about it! Because I know ONCE I FINSH THIS, I'LL DIE!!!

She continued to cry. I walked up to her and held her. I couldn't say anything that would cheer her up.

Murai: ...I ....I need a moment to think.

I walked out of the building and went to Lailah. When I was with her, I was crying myself. It wasn't fare for Zero. She didn't want this. And once she finishes it, She'll have to die by dragon fire.

Zero's POV:
