Chapter 9

"Mmm. This food is delicious." Cece says with her mouthful. The food here is really good. I just finished mine 5 minutes ago. Cece on the other hand is savoring every last bite.

"Are we done here?" Adrian, our waiter, comes back to check on us about an hour later. Diego shakes his head no. "Alright, I'll be at the counter when your done."

I feel the need to use the bathroom. Alec's hand on my thigh never ene moved. And he even started to rub his thumb in a circular motion while I'm mid-eating. I literally almost choked on my food because of him. "I'm gonna use the restroom. I'll be back." I say. 

Alec gives my thigh one more tight squeeze before he gets out of his side of the booth and allows me to get out and head to the bathroom.

On my way out, an hand on my own hand stops me. I turn around and see Adrian with a bright smile on his gorgeous face. What is he doing? "Yes?" I ask him confused.

"Um, I just wanted to give you this. You don't have to call me but if you're up for a little chat, I'm there." He says handing me a piece of paper. I just nod my head and go back to my seat. 

"What's that?" Cece asks me as I make my way back to our table.

"It's just Adrian's number." I shrug. 

As I start to open it, the small piece of paper is ripped out of my hands. I turn to see Alec crumpling the paper and throw it away in the trash can. Why did he do that? It's not like we're actually dating. This is just temporary

"Did you just throw his number away?" I ask shocked. He just shrugs his shoulder. That's it? So he's just going to shrug it off like that was not rude? it was pretty rude. "He just wants to be friends Alec." I say softly turning away from him. 

Like does he not want me to make friends?

"Let's go." Diego says and we all head back to our cars. "Um Bri, I was planning on riding with Cece tonight, so is it okay if you take a ride with Alec?"

"Isn't there more than 2 seats?" 

"Well yeah, but to make it even you know? 2 in each car. I'm a sucker for even numbers." Diego laughs nervously. Oh? Okay I guess. I start walking to Alec's black Ford Ranger and hop in the passenger seat. I sit there awkwardly waiting for him to drive.

We turns to look at me. "Diego said for me to ride with you." I reply. He just nods his head in understanding. Alec starts his car and makes his way out. "Do you know where I live?" I question after a moment of silence.

He nods his head and keeps his eyes trained on the road. Wait what? How does he know? He hasn't even been to my house. Or I haven't even told him my address. I look out the window to see the streets passing by and the trees. It's late at night and my eyes start to grow heavy.

The faint music on the radio is the last thing I hear before I slip out of consciousness.

I wake up to the bright sun shining in my eyes. I attempt to use my hand to cover it but it's like something is holding it back. I turn my head to see Alec. Wait Alec? What the heck is he doing? And in my bed? This is a dream. A really real dream. My eyes are wide open now. 

I look around us to see that I'm lying on his rock hard abbed chest. His arms caging me in a tight hold. What is happening? "Alec." I say and push against him. No response. "Alec." I say a bit louder. He mumbles something under his breath and tightens his hold on me. 

"Alec wake up!" I shout and his eyes flutter open and I'm the first thing he sees. 

"Morning sunshine." He says in his husky morning voice. Gosh that did wonders to my lady area. 

"Release me." I order.

"I think not." He says and rolls us over so now he's on top. I groan in response from his heavy body crushing mine.

"I can't breathe." I manage to get out. He loosens his hold on my and prompts himself up on his elbows so now he's hovering over me with a smirk on his face. "What are you doing here?" I ask softly. I get a really good look at his eyes. The way they glisten from the sunlight. 

And his lips. Oh his soft beautiful plump lips that I just so want to kiss. Woah, where did that come from?

"I was tired so I came to rest here. With you." He says like it's the most casual thing in the world.

I roll my eyes and then I remember. My mom. What if she finds us in this position. I try to push him off of me, attempting to get off from my bed and away from him. "My mom! What will she think of this!" I practically shout.

"Shhh. Calm down. I told her last night that I came here to drop you off. I told her I was getting tired so she lended me the guest room. But I didn't want that so I came here to sleep with you." He says with that same smirk on his face.

"Get out." I order pointing towards the door.

He holds his hands up in surrender. "Okay okay, I'm going. I'll see you at school Briar." He says and with a wink, he leaves my room. 

Thank gosh. I lie flat back down on my bed. It smells like him. Why is he everywhere? It's almost like he knows what he does to me. I check the time on my phone and it's still early in the morning. I just have about 15 minutes left to change, eat breakfast, and get to school.

I quickly grab an oversized tee shirt and pull it over my head. Then I grab my beige corduroy pants and slip them on. I find my white sandals and quickly wear them and grab my school bag and head downstairs. My mom is already there, drinking her morning coffee all dressed up.

"Morning mom." I say out of breath. 

"Morning. Your friend just left a few minutes ago." She says with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. I just roll my eyes because I have no time to discuss this. I grabbed a blueberry muffin and a banana for a quick breakfast. "You ready?" My mom asks me. I just nod while eating the muffin. 

I manage to get to school with only 5 minutes to spare. So I quickly rush to my locker. Cece shows up with a grin on her face. "So, Alec?" She asks in a teasing voice.

"I'll tell you about it later." I say exhausted from the rush this morning. 

"You better." She says and we start walking down to our first period.
