L I L A C

"Hey, Mateo! How are you?" I asked avoiding the gun that was in his pocket.

I patted the seat next to me on my bed.

"Sit," I said and he sat down.

I got a better look at his face and

"You're bleeding. Oh my goodness." I said and grabbed my first aid kit under my bed.

Send a message to Kaiden.

Send a message to Kaiden.

But Mateo is hurt.

Don't be a...what's the word...a dumb ass. Yea. Yay! I used it correctly.

Where's my phone?

It's okay, Mateo won't hurt me. We're friends, right?

I got the first aid kit and started taking care of his bloody face.

Ouch.

Mateo was holding on to his gun and wasn't letting go.

I looked around for my phone.

Where are you?!

He's gonna shoot you, Lilac.

But I didn't do anything to make him shoot me.

You're friends with Kaiden.

I don't know what to do.

Oh no.

"Hey, what's your favorite color?" I asked him.

"Blue or red." He replied, his eyes were red.

Is he not getting enough sleep? What if he needs a nap.

He can sleep on my bed.

No, he can't! He has a gun with him, dummy.

Oh, yea.

"Wait a minute. Blue and red make purple! That's so cool!" I said.

I finished fixing him up and I quickly went to put it in the bathroom.

I think my phone's in there.

Wait but what if Kaiden calls the police on his brother.

That would be horrible. The justice system is so unfair.

I'll just keep my phone with me in case he does decide to shoot someone.

Ooh, a taser. My dad gave me it this morning so I can use it if someone bothers me.

Obviously, I can't talk him out of shooting someone but at least I can tase him.

I went back to my room and saw Mateo staring outside the balcony.
