Cari POV:
i can't overthink it. my brain gets in the way. the amount of love i have in my heart for shannon is enough, and i need to trust that.
i trust her when she says she want's a future with me, i just need to go for it
"bob, i'm going back to LA"i suddenly exclaimed, after being deep in thought for the past 20 minutes
"to see shannon?" he asked
"yes, im booking a flight right now, no backing out"
The next day, i pulled up to Shannon's house. I stood outside for 10 minutes figuring out what i was going to say, but that was all wasted when i finally worked up the courage to knock, and she wasn't even in.
"Cari?" Jess said when she opened the door, with a huge smile on her face
"is shannon in?" i asked
"oh, no, she's at the store, she'll be back soon though, come in and wait?" jess said, standing back to let me in
we were sat in the living room when shannon arrived home
i don't know what she was doing outside but she was making a rackett
"Jess, open the door" she shouted
Jess looked at me
"i'll just go put my headphones on in my room" she said, leaving
that was my queue to go and open the door
"cari?" she said, looking like she had just seen a ghost, whilst juggling too many items in her hands
"here give me some stuff" i said, taking some random items from her arms
We unloaded everything into the fridge and cupboards before we really started talking
I sat at the kitchen table, whilst shannon leant on the counter across from me. Neither of us really knew what to say, although we both knew why i was here.
"i'm in" i said, playing with my hands, not making eye contact with her
"you're what?" shannon said, standing more upright and lifting her eyeline to try and meet mine
"i don't want a future if you're not in it" i said, meeting her eyes, to see a smile form of her face
I could literally see the excitement on Shannon's face. It was that look that made me know i was doing the right thing
"thank God. i was praying that i was not going to have to wipe shannon's tears for the next few weeks" jess shouted from her bedroom
"i thought you were putting your headphones on" i shouted back, smiling
When i turned my head back to look at shannon she had taken a few steps closer to me.
"cari?" she said
"yeah?"
"will you be my girlfriend?" she questioned, shyly
"yes" i responded and leaned in to kiss her

Shannon POV
A few days had past and we hadn't left my house. we were enjoying each-others company and talking about some of the big things that we felt we should talk about.
We both wanted to clean the slate and get everything off out chests, and no running was allowed.
Because we had just been with each-other for 4 days, we had fallen into our own bubble. neither one of us had really checked our phones, and therefore our social media presence over the past few days was non existent, and our fans had noticed
Neither Shannon nor Fletcher have tweeted in the past 4 days, coincidence?
Both Cari and Shannon have been missing for 4 days, couples retreat?
Shannon last posted to her instagram story 5 days ago, cari last tweeted on the same day, nothing from either since, fishy.
Those were some of the tweets that i saw when i scrolled, it was the same for Cari. it was mad how our fans still cared about us after all this time, but also kind of creepy how they join the dots.
"What are your thoughts on going public this time" cari said, looking over my shoulder as i scrolled
"well, as soon as we start posting anything together the fans will figure it out" i replied
"true, maybe we should just not try and hide it, but not confirm it?" cari said, kind of questioningly
"yeah, sure, works for me" i said smiling, but whilst still focusing on my phone
"i've got to run to the studio, i'm working on something special, but i'll be back in a few hours" cari said, giving me a kiss on the top of my head before she headed towards the door
Something special? i was intrigued.
