Glory's POV:
Fresh air. I opened my eyes slowly, yawning. Leisurely, I turned my head this way and that, suddenly catching sight of a dark figure. For a second my heart stopped as my memories came back of my dream/vision thing, and I thought I hadn't escaped Lie, who wasn't even a dragon. But it was just Deathbringer.
For a split second I felt relief, and then fear. A cold clamminess took over, as if my stomach itself was sweating nervously. I tensed for a few seconds, and then relaxed. Taking a deep breath, I told myself that my new knowledge made nothing different. Deathbringer was still my best friend, even if he was my crush. I still didn't want to avoid him.
I couldn't help but wonder if Truth said that, or Lie did. I really didn't want to know.
Taking a deep breath and steadying myself to act normal, I gently shook Deathbringer awake.
One eye opened fast as if ready to fight, but when he saw it was me he rolled over and went back to sleep.
"Deathbringer, time to wake up..."
"Noooo, just a few more minutesssss," he whined like a dragonet. I laughed, I couldn't blame Death. He hadn't really slept that night because he wanted to keep guard.
"Deathbringer, if you wake up now I'll call you handsome!" I said cheekily. I'm tired and I need some normal interaction, okay!? Wait, who am I talking to... am I having another argument with myself? ACK SHUT UP ME!
In a flash Deathbringer was up, crouching at my talons with the cutest puppy eyes.
I laughed and patted him on the head, saying, "Alright alright. You're handsome," with a smile on my face. Deathbringer's face split into a huge grin.
"Alright, now we can go fly to the Island where Peril is waiting, hopefully with Jambu." I said.
"Right," Death said, still grinning like an idiot.
Rolling my eyes, I said, "Yeah, I get it Death. Get over it."
Shaking his head, Death laughed as we flew into the sky, which was only just beginning to show hints of a sunrise.
Jambu's POV:
I'd snuck into the Summer Palace easily enough. It was destroyed, and very few SeaWings milled around it. However, Tsunami told me that she and Anemone had discussed meeting at the Summer Palace in case anything happened. So here I was, searching for the young SeaWing princess.
This was the third time I was visiting the once-beautiful island. I had gone once yesterday, and once this morning while it was still dark. Now, dawn was breaking, and I wanted to see if Anemone was near.
Camouflaged, I observed the debris of one of the SeaWings' most prized places, other than the Deep Palace. I looked around for a few minutes and then spotted a small silhouette by the still-rising sun. Bingo. I crept towards the dragonet, finding that it was indeed Anemone.
I shifted my scales to pink after seeing that no one was around, and said, "Don't be alarmed, I know your sister Tsunami."
Anemone whirled around, eyes glowing with fright. She calmed down a little bit after she saw the non-threatening pink on my scales, but she still wasn't calm. In one breath, she blurted, "Who are you? Why are you here? How do you know Tsunami? Prove to me that you are safe!" She assumed a defensive position, and I raised my claws up in a peace.
