S2 Chapter 7: A Brighter World

"Only if you'll marry me too."

As stupid as it looks, Kakashi began to sob and laugh at the same time "Y-You're serious? You can't take back what you said Kasuno-chan!"

"Hm." She stared at him, feeling something warm stir up inside her. It's been a long time since she'd seen him look genuinely happy like this.

His happiness makes her happy too. No...he makes her feel something beyond words.

Finally settling down, Kakashi sigh. He rub the back of his head "I...I don't have a ring."

They were still sitting on the cold floor, under the bright light of stars.

Kasuno smiled "It doesn't matter."

He thought for awhile then reached under his vest, revealing a necklace with the hatake clan symbol.

"You....You still have that?" Kasuno's eyes widened. She remembered returning it to him when they broke up.

He took the necklace off and pulled her closer to him, tying the necklace around her neck "It looks way better on you than on me, Kasuno-chan."

"Kakashi..." As he was putting the necklace on her, Kasuno wrapped her arms around him, making him froze. She buried her face on his shoulder, feeling remorseful.

"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry. Forgive me Kakashi—"

Kakashi relaxed under her embrace, closing his eyes and hugging her back "Just...don't do it again. You really scared me Kasuno-chan." He hugged her tightly, never wanting to let again.

He can feel her tears seeping through his close as she began to shake. She kept calling his name, feeling like everything was just a dream.

"Shhh. I'm here. I won't leave you again. You don't have to cry anymore." He gently pulled her away, wiping the stream of tears down her cheeks "Remember what I told you before?"

"Hmm?"

He tilted his head, flashing his eye smile "They said girls looks cute when they cry, but it seems like you're an exception."

"Hatake!" She huffed, flashing him a glare through her tears soaked eyelashes.

He chuckled, shaking his hands in front of her "It's a joke. It's a joke. But you do seem to like crying in front of me, huh? Somethings never change."

Kasuno began to smile. A beautiful genuine smile that came from the bottom of her heart.

Kakashi felt mesmerized as he stared at her "It'll never change too; my love for you."

Kasuno burst into a fit of laughter "You hang out with my brother too much! You're starting to sound cringe worthy like him!"

"Do I sound tacky?" Kakashi wondered "I heard him say words like these to Ayame. And look, they're married now."

Kasuno was still laughing. Not just because she find him cute and funny but also because she never felt this happy for a very long time. Being like this with him felt so magical. If her world was once full of grey, Hatake Kakashi painted it with colors.

"Ughhh~ Kasuno-chan, stop laughing already." He looked away, scratching his head in embarrassment.

S2 Chapter 7: A Brighter World

"Gai." Kakashi called, emerging from the ruins of Konoha Hospital. Families and ninjas alike were already cleaning up the scene; Deidara nowhere to be found.

Gai ran towards him "Kakashi my rival! Are you okay— KASUNO MY LOVE!" He pointed his fingers "KAKASHI! WHAT DID YOU DO TO KASUNO! WHY IS SHE ON YOUR BACK!"
