Knocking came from the door. I still remained in Ethan's arms as we looked toward the front door. Could it be Mika? We let go and headed over to the door. Ethan opened it up to see two people bickering.

"Oh, come on! You can't pussy out now!"

"Watch me-!"

The two of them looked to us scared. They plastered on a smile and hugged each other. Ethan and I laughed.

"You came!" I exclaimed hugging them. They sighed and hugged me back.

We lead them into the living room. The room went silent, staring at the two friends that arrived. Seán stood to his feet in shock. His eyes fixed on the shorter one. He smiled wide. Almost as if he was filled with pure love.

He grabbed them and brought them into a tight hug. They hugged him back. Mika smiled happily.

"So... How do you like their new look?"

Xena broke away from Seán. They pushed back their hair behind their ear. Their hair had been cut up to their collarbone with a split dye of black and red. They had done their makeup and dressed in a long sleeved black shirt, gray jeans, topped with a leather belt, their platform Dr. Martens, and a big, oversized jacket that originally belonged to Seán.

"You look so much better." Seán said. "Not that you didn't look great before- you are beautiful- I mean, you look better health wise."

Xena laughed to themself. "Thank you, Seán."

"I'm so happy you came." He told them.

"I didn't have a choice. Mika practically dragged me here."

"Yep!" Mika confirmed. "There's no getting through me."

"Har Har!" Xena taunted Mika profusely. There's was no stopping their sibling-like chemistry. Even if they practically dated at one point, they can go from lovers, to enemies, to friends so easily. It has to be a maturity thing...

"Dinner is about ready if everyone is set to eat!" Amy informed the party. The group got off and onto their feet to wash their hands. One by one, everyone got in their designated seat, chose by yours truly... Mark.

I dragged out my chair and sat down on it. Next to me, ironically, was the man himself. Mark held his chin proudly with a smirk. Amy on his right happy as always. To my left sat Seán tall and mighty. Xena waved my way, they had been sat next to him. On the heads of the table sat Mika by Xena and Tyler by Amy. Across from us was Mandy, Molly, Wade, Bob, and Ethan. The whole family together!

We said our thanks to Amy's wonderful cooking and began the Christmas Eve dinner! Casual discussion and laughter filled the room with seasonal cheer! All of the problems have been ironed out. Things are the way then should be. I smiled happily to myself knowing that this is what we all worked for, a reality where we all are at peace. No drama, no hatred, just moments like this one that resonate inside your heart.

Yeah sure, Bob might've flicked a few pieces of corn at Wade and Mark. Tyler cracked up like usual. Amy standing back as the three go at it. Seán and I chiming in with snarky remarks and instigating the fight just a little more. All family things!

Dinner finished with a bang! Everyone, after cleaning their places, soon went back to the living room. The Christmas tree lit up and decorated to perfection. Instrumental music played in the background as the other lounged around new their full bellies. It was gift-opening time. And then.. dessert!

Tightly wrapped presents and colorfully designed gift bags were passed around to its designated person. Gifts appeared at my feet. I thanked everyone for their generosity.

Opening a few from Bob and Mandy, Wade and Molly, one from Tyler, another one from both Mika and Xena, Mark and Amy are saving theirs for tomorrow. Ethan sat down next to me, handing me a deep red gift bag. White sparkly tissue paper stuffed inside to conceal the contents within it. Sticking out of it was a beautiful rose. Smiling brightly, I thanked him.

"You can open it now if you'd like." He said to me. Before I did, I grabbed his gifts for him, placing it in his palms.

"You didn't need to get me something, Y/N.."

"But I did. You did too, yanno."

"I guess that's fair." He chuckled.

"Open yours first." I told him "Ladies first."

He rolled his eyes playfully, lifting the wrapping a paper and tape that was folded so senselessly. Opening the present up to a dark, wooden, decorated frame with a picture of us together at Wade's wedding back in May. He smiled wide, small sniffles left his nose.

"I love it." He said looking back into my eyes. "Thank you."

"There's something else, it was taped on." I points to the thinly object that was wrapped in the same color paper. He picked it up and opened it to a letter. Black ink, my own writing. He read it to himself, grinning more and more the further he got.

"This is beautiful."

"Like your letters that you gave me." I added. Flustered, he nudged me with his shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah... I know. Now open yours!" He turned towards me. Watching my every move.

I found a card within the tissue paper. A lilac-colored envelope opened to a white card. The inside was the sweetest thing I've read yet so far.

"Y/N,

Merry Christmas. I am very thankful that i have had you this far in my life. You have brought so much love and joy. I cannot thank you enough. Unlike my past attempts, I will make your time with me worth while. With me, you worries will be soothed, you will never be alone, I will never let you go. Nor will you ever lose my loyalty.
For all that I've done, thank you for being the light in my life. I hope for a better future with you in it. I love you very much.

                             Ethan."

A tear streamed down from the corner of my eye. The sweetest form of love all written on paper for me to keep forever. I looked to Ethan. He waited for a response. I smiled and kissed his cheek.

"Thank you." I grabbed his hand. "I can't wait for what the future holds with you."

Ethan blushed slightly, looking at my hand and back up at me. He motioned for me to continue opening the gift. I reached inside and pulled out a small box. I lifted the lid off of it to be greeted by a sparkling silver necklace. Two colored gems on a thin silver plate.

"It's our birthstones." He told me reaching for the ends of the necklace. I turned my back to him as he latched the necklace around my neck. I held the pendant between my fingers admiring it.

"I love it very much!" I turned to tell him. "Thank you, Ethan!"

"My pleasure." He said. I laid back on him as he held me in his arms. We watched as everyone else opened their gifts. Ethan would give me a few head-kisses and Mark would smirk endlessly.

Seán and Xena sat together, they had also decided to wait until tomorrow, seeing that Seán already rooms here anyhow. Xena is staying the night so they don't have to drive too long of a distance.

Once everyone was finished, it was time for desert. Everyone gathered back at the table to be greeted with a envelop at each placemat. In the center was a double chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, and various flavors of cookies. Mark stood to his feet once everyone was seated and settled.

"Now, before we begin eating. I have one last gift for all of you!" He began. "Everyone had an envelope in front of them. Please open them now."

The sound of ripping paper echoed the room. Everyone pulled out a slip with tickets inside them. We looked to Mark to explain.

"This summer, we will be spending a month down in Hawaii! My treat!" He exclaimed. "If you choose not to go that's completely fine! But it's there as an option to spend time! We are renting a house there that has enough room for all of us!"

Chatter and excitement filled each and every one of us. A summer trip! This is exactly what I have been needing! A break!

A summer break!
