||THE NEW GIRL||

Me, Jack, and Rudy were behind our booth at the Seaford Civics Center for the karate dojo booth thing. I don't know what it's called. Rudy droned on and on about it yesterday, but I zoned out after he said 'Big news, people! We've'. Yeah, he's not the greatest with 'big news' so I just zone out instead. "Ah. Karate Con," Rudy sighed. So the thing's called Karate Con. "3 days to get new students. You can just smell the new business in the air."

"That's urinal cakes," Jack corrected. "Our booth is practically in the men's room."

"Seriously, what do you guys do in there?" I gagged.

"It's not that bad," Jack dismissed it.

"Maybe that's because you're used to it," I suggested, waving my hand in front of my face.

"Ugh. Trent Darby thinks he's all that with his perfect physique and all of his trophies and his fancy dojos," Rudy scoffed.

"Yeah. What a loser," Jack sarcastically agreed.

"I know right," Rudy nervously laughed.

"Wrong," I mumbled. I looked into the crowd to see Sloane Jennings. No way! "Guys! Guys! Is- is that Sloane Jennings? Oh my god! I'm her biggest fan!"

"Alright people, listen up," Sloane's manager ordered. "We've come to Karate Con to find a new dojo for Sloane that will provide discipline and focus so she can dominate the Girls' National Karate Tournament."

"And to introduce my new Sloane Jennings Acne Scrub," Sloane added. Sloane broke a board. "You don't have to be a black belt to fight blackheads."

"Do you have any idea what this means?" Jack asked Rudy excitedly.

"I can finally get rid of that patch of zits on my-"

"-Rudy," Jack cut Rudy off. Thank god for that. "They're looking for a new dojo for Sloane. That could be us!"

"Here's my book. The Trent Darby story," Darby handed Sloane's manager the book. "It's the story of-"

"-Trent Darby?" Sloane sarcastically guessed.

"She's sarcastic. I love her," I spoke in a high pitch voice.

"Oh! You've read it," Darby smiled.

"I'd like to offer you my book," Rudy handed his book to Sloane's manager. "It's my autobiography from rags to Rudy."

"Let me guess. The story's about a poor boy who grows up to be a sensei," Darby guessed.

"Uh no. It's a story about a boy who changes his name from Rags to Rudy," Rudy corrected. Ok, these people need help. "Yeah. You heard me. I was a boy named Rags."

"Hup! Hup! Hup! Hup!" Rudy chanted as 3 impressive looking students punched and me, Jack, Jerry, and Milton walked in. I looked around the place. It looked sophisticated, it looked...not our dojo.

"Oh. Guys, we're in the wrong dojo," Jerry deadpanned. "Sorry, sir."

"Rudy, what did you do to this place? And who are they?" I asked.

"Sloane and her manager are on their way over here. They said it was important to them to get to know the real us, so I changed everything about who we are! Those people are just actors. It has to be perfect. Jack, Cami, go put on your formal training gees. Milton, Jerry, get out," Rudy ordered.
