Chapter 2- Fight

I went to Dad and Aris’ room to pack clothes for Aris. Ako ang palaging nag-iimpake at nag-aasikaso ng mga gamit niya sa tuwing may lakad kami. After doing so, I went back to my room to pack some clothes as well. In a hurry, I managed to fit in ten pairs of pants, ten pairs of underwear, and ten shirts in the bag. I didn't even know how all of it fit in.

Ang tanging suot ko lamang ay ang pantulog ko na pinatungan ko ng jacket. Suot ko rin ang pinakakomportableng sapatos ko na siyang suot ko nang papunta kami rito.

I also took another bag and put other necessities in it such as first aid kit, flashlight, batteries, and much more. While I’m packing, Aki’s downstairs packing foods too.

Pagkatapos kong mag-impake ay binuhat ko na sa magkabilang balikat ko ang bag namin ni Aris, habang ang isang bag naman na puno ng necessities ay hawak ko gamit ang dalawang kamay. I immediately went downstairs and found Aris there staring at nowhere and still sniffling. He immediately looked up at me when he heard my footsteps. He stood up and immediately went in for a hug.

Ibinaba ko ang mga bag na dala ko para mayakap ko siya nang maayos.

“It’s alright, baby. We’re here. We’ll protect you, we’ll protect each other. We’re in this together, don’t worry.” I whispered and kissed his forehead while running my hands through his hair.

He nodded before parting from the hug we shared. Sighing, I immediately wiped his tear-soaked cheeks.

“Nakapag-impake na ba kayo? Ayos na ba ang lahat? Are your things ready?” My head snapped in the direction of the voice.

“Dad!” I greeted my father with a hug as he came down the stairs. He hugged me back tightly and he also did the same to Aris. May dala rin siyang sariling bag. Maybe he went upstairs to pack when I was busy packing my clothes.

"We have to go now. Where's your sister?"

"In here!" I look up and saw Anne climbing down the stairs. Dalawang bag ang dala niya. "I packed Kuya's things too."

I nodded and was about to ask where's Aki when he showed up by the door towards the kitchen. Nakatayo siya roon.

"I can't find the protein bars. Where is it placed, Dad?" He asked. Magsasalita pa sana si Dad ngunit naunahan ko na siya.

"Ako na." Sabi ko kay Aki. Ako kasi ang nag-arrange ng groceries namin sa kusina ng vacation house.

"Aika!" I went straight to the kitchen. Hindi ko na pinansin ang sabay na pagtawag ni Dad at Aki sa pangalan ko dahil na rin siguro sa kabang hindi pa rin nawawala sa dibdib ko. I immediately stopped by the kitchen door when I noticed a foot behind the stool bar. Para bang may taong nakahiga roon.

Dahan-dahan kong nilapitan 'yong paa para makita ito nang maayos—na sana'y hindi ko nalang ginawa. I let go of the loudest scream I've ever made in my entire life. Didn't know I had it in me to scream like a banshee. "Ahhh!"

My view was then blocked by a figure. When I looked up, the worried face of my twin greeted me. "Are you ok—"

"Who the hell is that?! Is that the guy Anne's referring to?! Is that the goon who trespassed in the vacation house?! Is he dead?!" My question was a mixture of shock, fear, and anger. I wasn't expecting a dead body when I entered the kitchen!

"Listen, okay?" He sighed. I noticed Dad enter the kitchen with a blanket in his hand. I think he will cover the... corpse. "This is why I told you, Anne, and Aris that something's wrong. That guy... He's not... h-human anymore. And he did not trespass. I saw him inside the laundry room. I think he was the caretaker of the vacation hou—"
