Nakul was standing at the outhouse corridor thinking about today's happenings.
Even though his roots lie here, he has never been close to this society, and he never knew that it is so Conservative. He doesn't understand why everybody is making a great deal out of an adoption! What she did is a great thing, and why are they all blaming and cursing her?
He was immersed in his thoughts, that he didn't see Meera approaching him.
She cleared her throat to get his attention.
Nakul: "oh hey hi! Sorry I didn't see you!"
Meera: "Ya I noticed that. I came to call you for dinner." She smiled at him.
Nakul: "Ohh ya coming. Sorry to bother you. Come on, let's go."
Meera: "Hey no problem at all. Actually...I want to ask you a favor!"
She was confused about whether to ask him or not. She doesn't know what kind of person he is and whether he will help her or not.
Nakul looked at her expectantly asking her to continue.
Meera: "hmm... Please promise me that you won't tell anyone. Especially Sachin." She was getting nervous. If he tells anyone, they wouldn't spare her!
Nakul was amused to see her this side but confused at the same time about what she has to say!
Nakul: "But how can I promise you without knowing what it is?" He knew she is not a troublemaker, but he is not going to take a risk as he doesn't know much about her.
Meera took a deep breath and said,
"OK, I will tell you what it is. But if you can't help me, please ignore what I have said and don't tell anyone. Please?"
Nakul looked at her skeptically but agreed to it anyway.
Meera: "Could you please check and tell me when Nisha won't be at home tomorrow or even the day after tomorrow is fine." She looked at him nervously.
Nakul: "Why?"
Meera: "I want to meet her parents. I don't want a repeat episode of what had happened today at their wedding. I thought everybody knew about our presence. But I think they meant to keep it as a surprise! So, could you please help me? If I ask her, she will tell Sachin and I cannot give her any genuine excuse too!"
Nakul thought for a moment. He understood her point. But from what Sachin has told about her dad, they might not treat her with respect, and if Sachin comes to know about it, that itself would be enough to call off the wedding! But if he doesn't help her now, she might do it some other way. This way at least he can be present and help her in some way!
Nakul: " OK, I will help you. But only on one condition. I will come with you and if you don't agree with it, I will tell Sachin too."
Meera knew she did this to herself and doesn't have any better option. So She agreed!
Nakul: " ok then, I will call her now and then will join you all for dinner."
Meera: "it's ok, take your time. Dinner is not yet ready. I wanted to freshen up. So told mom that I would inform you on my way. Also, I needed to talk with you without any disruption."
Nakul: " OK then, I will talk to her and let you know then."
She nodded and went to her room.
After freshening, she was cleaning up her room when Nakul came at her door.
As the door was already open, he called her.
Nakul: " Meera.."
She turned to look at the door to see him standing outside her door.
