Fair warning if you dislike angst:
Lots of angst up ahead

My heartbeat quickened and I felt nauseous. Regret, guilt, jealousy, depression, anxiety, all came to hit me like a huge wave of shame. I lost all my appetite, so I pushed the deep plate of soup away from me. I couldn't steady my breath and my vision slowly started failing me.

"I'm full." I said and scooted my chair out to stand up.

"Y/n, I'm sure it's all rumours and lies. Come back, I'm sorry for bringing it up." Ash remarked. I shook my head rapidly and let out a few pants before saying,

"Shut up, Asher. Just shut up for once!" I ran upstairs and into the bathroom. I had probably left everyone completely dumbfounded at the table. I heard footsteps approaching behind me. My head hung over the toilet seat as I felt like my guts were gonna plummet out of my mouth any second.

"Y/n... ", a soft voice spoke. It was Pieck. Her delicate fingers grazed my shoulder as I began puking.

"Maybe Ash is right. Maybe they're all rumours." She brushed my hair in-between her fingers and held my hair so I didn't get anything on it as I continued vomiting my intestines out.

"I doubt it." I panted, trying to catch my breath. All she did was look me deep into my eyes.

"Well...", she didnt have anything else to say... or so I thought.

"Even if they aren't rumours and lies, you shouldn't be bothered by it. He's not worth it." Pieck reminded me. I looked up at her with tired eyes, as I sat on the cold bathroom floor.

"Are you tired? We can call it a night if you'd like." She said as she laid the backside of her hand on my forehead. I hazily swatted her hand away from my face.

"Just... leave." I coughed and leaned my head into the toilet bowl, only to puke some more. Pieck stroked my back, which I arched; letting her know I wanted her to leave. For real.

"Fine... come out when you're done." She sighed and left, slightly slamming the door behind her.

...

The door slammed behind me. I could hear many things being thrown around in the kitchen. I couldn't take his temper much longer... I was going to break. The light above me flickered. The house was old and we just found it along the road. I wasn't even sure if anybody actually lived here. Why did he have to throw a fit now? We were alone in some seemingly abandoned house along some sketchy road on the countryside.

The room started shaking and the lights flickered even more than before. Either something wasn't right, or he was throwing one of his extremely aggressive fits. Those were starting to get more and more common.

"Please listen to me. I didn't know my parents were using the cabin this weekend... I rarely ever speak to them. Please..." I begged. I heard more things being thrown around. He could go feral over the smallest things. I never intended for this to happen. I guess it's all my fault....
