A couple of days had already passed since Levi's proposal. I hadn't come up with an answer yet. The job did sound quite dangerous. I tried contacting this 'Hange Zoë' but they didn't seem to get any of my emails, and phone calls just didn't get through. It gave me cold feet.

"Y/n, are you thinking about the offer again? Ackerman's such a hard-ass. Not giving you time to think at all." She rolled her eyes and continued reading in a manga she had recently become obsessed with.I gripped my hair in frustration.

"Pieck, what would you do if you were me?" She sighed and put her manga down as she adjusted herself on the bed,

"Personally, I would take the offer if it was for a good cause. You're helping out with finding new illnesses and cures right? So why not?" She shrugged and slumped back into the position she sat in before, picking up her manga. 'Attack On Titan'.

"It's dangerous and I might loose my life, you know." She nodded and turned a page.

"Still, if it means I can help... I'd do it." Licking her lips, she sighed and pursed them. Turning yet another page. As I sighed, she put her manga away this time and moved closer to me.

"Hey, don't stress over it. I'm sure you can find other part-time jobs. Right?" She smiled.

"But I could make a career out of this." Another sigh left my lips.

"Well then take the offer. Ackerman said there had only been one death, right? Except for the patients of course, but still. That lowers the possibility of death, doesn't it?" She got out of bed and went to grab her phone, which was placed on my vanity.

"Well... I don't know this Hange person has had more than that assistant in the past. So what if that assistant had been the only one?" I shook my head and let it plop onto the pillow behind me.

"I can't tell you what to do, but I would take the offer, since I could get a job opportunity out of it. Ontop of that, I could also help our society as a whole. If it gets too dangerous I'd just quit. You know?" She scrolled through her phone, leaning against the counter. He eyes followed the light emitting from it.

"I'll take it." I said with determination. Her face perked up and she nodded her head calmly and gave me a warm smile. Gosh, I loved her smiles more than anything.

"I trust that you will show the world what you can do." I jumped out of bed, fixed my hair and touched op my makeup. Classes were over for today for me, but I was still in my uniform, so I didn't bother changing. When I left my dorm, I ran into that girl from a few nights ago. She lived on the same floor as Pieck and I so I wasn't exactly surprised.

"Oh, hi. l/n, right?" She was kind of awkward, but so was I. So it didn't really matter. I didn't even have time to think about anything else. I had to go see Ackerman. Of course I didn't know his schedule, and waiting outside his office would be tiring. Maybe I could go to professor Reiss first. She was the leader after all.

"Yeah, that's right. Hoover?" She nodded. She was carrying some books. Her hair was a bit of a mess.

"Where are you headed?" She asked as we stepped into the elevator. I pressed the button leading down to the lobby, and pressed to close the doors right after.

"Oh, I'm just on my way to see professor Reiss... Historia if you will." I just stood there awkwardly looking at the screen showing 'D'... 'C'... 'B'...

"What a coincidence! I have a meeting with her regarding my classes. We can go together if you want?" She gave me somewhat of a mixture between a sweet and awkward smile. I nodded, and as we finally arrived at the ground floor, we walked out the building and towards the school. The weather was getting chilly. It was the beginning of November anyway. Not that I was bothered by it. Whilst I was wearing my uniform, Hoover was wearing a thin t-shirt with a knitted cardigan and some light blue jeans.

"So, what's your major?" She suddenly asked and turned her head to face me. The school was in sight now, so there was approximately 5 or so minutes left.

"I'm in psychology. What major are you?" I fired the question back, as means to not make things more awkward than they already were. Her books seemed to point to mathematics or maybe chemistry. But I asked anyway.

"Mathematics. I went to another college before this, but they closed recently due to bankruptcy.  I guess someone couldn't handle their finances!" She laughed and waved her hand in from of her face. We were almost at the doors. I went along with it and laughed with her. Though it wasn't the funniest thing I'd heard.

"Come in." Reiss said as we knocked on her door. I twisted the know and walked inside. Hoover waited for her turn outside. As Reiss saw me, her face lit up and she smiled brightly at me.

"Y/n! I'm glad you came by! You must've gotten the offer by now, right?" Her honey tone was slipping off her tongue. I slowly nodded and took a seat at her desk, facing her directly.

"I was just wondering if you could relay a message to Levi... professor Reiss." Originally, I was supposed to ask her where he would be so I could go tell him about my decision myself, but ultimately this is what I came to.

"Why of course, darling. Anything. -and please, call me Historia. You're too formal!" She chuckled and found a piece of paper along with a pen to note my words down. As I told her what to tell him, she wrote it down elegantly. When she finished, I left my chair, bowed and walked towards the door.

"Y/n! Wait a minute just before you leave. There's something I need to have a word with you about. You wouldn't mind, would you?" Baffled, I turned around, wearing a questioning look on my face. I couldn't read her at all. She was just sitting there. Smiling sweetly, turning her ring around her finger. I sat down on the soft chair again. Facing her. Yet again.

"What did you want to talk about..?" I was unsure of what she was going to say, but I knew I had to keep my cool no matter what.

"So... you know about Eren, right?" I cocked an eyebrow. Eren?
