Humans are truly fascinating creatures.

They can do many things with just their minds and hearts. The very first man found the fire because he was cold, the first people also found tires because they needed help to carry things. They improved themselves and found different minerals, did various weapons with them... Wars came and went, they shed blood, they spread fear through their people and lands yet... There still was one thing they all believed- One singularity for whom they shed blood and devoted themselves for: the God... Angels, demons and every other supernatural creatures.

Humans always had a unique way to solve their problems yet they never really stopped from believing that there was someone, something that made them do what they did. Some would call it "The Devil wanted me to do it." some would say "I did what I did in the name of our Lord!" Shape and the way they said those words changed through time but the main idea was always the same.

However...

Even if those are the facts of the History, people refused to believe that there were demons, that the so-called-monsters under their beds or the creatures that wandered through the empty streets to hunt humans were all lies. They believed- or chose to believe to fool themselves- that these are all some stupid-stories- that was told by old and crazy people to scare the young ones.

Oh, how wrong they are to think in this way, thought Akahana. Sure, humans are amazing and all but they are so stupid sometimes... Such as right now.

"SABITO YOU DAMN FOUL FOX! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO WITH MY KATANA?!"

" ARE YOU SURE YOU WANNA HEAR SHINAZUGAWA-SAN?!!"

"GUYS, ARE YOU NOT SUPPOSED TO GO AND CHECK YOUR DESIGNATED AREAS?"

"SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH HAIZAKI BEFORE I COME AFTER YOU!!"

" HARR?! HOW DARE YOU?! OYAKATA-SAMA WILL NOT BE HAPPY IF YOU DO THAT TO HER PRECIOUS SON!!"

"SINCE WHEN ARE YOU?!!"

"THE DAMN BEGINNING! I HAVE THE CUTEST AND MOST HANDSOME FACE AND ALSO I'M A GREAT SWORD USER!"

"I swear to God if they don't shut up in the next 5 minutes, I'll send Kaburamaru after them..."

Akahana only gave a soft and understanding look at Obanai after seeing both him and his dear snake so tired and worn out. The sight may seem like impossible for the most but to Akahana, the reason why was so obvious.

"Your twins couldn't fall asleep again, right Obanai?

Ahhhh... The babies and their never ending wails, especially at night. Since the adorable twin girls were Obanai and Mitsuri's first children, they had no idea what was waiting for them when they learnt that Mitsuri was pregnant. After their birth it wasn't easier for them either. The babies would often get fussy, that's a given fact but newborns tend to be even fussier than normal.

"I don't understand how you are able to see through every one of us, mom."

"I raised all of the Corps and of course 9 children. I'm supposed to know what's going on inside that head of every one of you with just one glance. It's secret power of mine." She winked and nudged her son with her elbow slightly and continued speaking.

"You know you could have come to me for help, dear. I'm always willing to help young ones." she said while chuckling at the blank but grateful stare of her son's. "No need to shoulder the weight of being a parent for the first time. Besides, Ume and Asumi wanted to see the babies again. I'm sure they would love to help as well."

"You or my sisters are not what I'm concerned about... It's that muscle-brained idiot."

At that she smiled while patting her son's back and stand up. After brushing off the dust from her kimono, she said " I'll be waiting for your family, my son. Don't forget, okay? I'll go and check the others." while walking away towards the direction of the Dojo. She couldn't help but close her eyes in gratitude...

It's good to know that you finally achieved what you always desired, Obanai...

While she was walking towards her son's dojo, she couldn't help but think about everyone's past. The past that was filled with nothing but pain and misery. All because of someone: Him...

She shook her head immediately at the thoughts that crossed her head once again. "No need to think about him, Akahana. Don't. Think. Of. Him. It's in the past now... Ahh, It seems I will past the cemetary to go to the dojo. I should go and visit my children and pay my respects."

After a 20 minutes of walking, she finally reached the entrance of the cemetery but the amount of bad aura made her stop right there. It was so strong that she couldn't help but hold the place where her heart was and tear up slightly. All of these young lifes was gone so early and suddenly that their regrets, sadness and "I wish..."s were able to be detected easily. Considering that the Demon Slayer Corps doesn't only hunt down the demons but vampires, werewolves and cursed spirits as well( even though people thinks they aren't real), these children's regrets could make them end up as a cursed spirit therefore she and her beloved friend Yushiro put talismans and protection sigils all around the Corps.

After checking the first talismans on the entrance, she gained her posture again and went inside. Even though she was partly blind, she always knew her children's name fot she can never forget them.

" Higashi Michio..."

" Yasutake Yoshiyuki..."

" Shibata Takashi..."

" Fujita Tsukiko..."

" Ida Hisako..."

" Sazama Mizuki..."

" Oda Tsuneo..."

She slowly whispered every name after passing the graves, stopping and praying for them to have a peaceful afterlife and reborn as a human one more time. Everytime she comes and visits, prays and talks to them always made them happy, she knew it because whenever she would do this, the air always becomes lighter-almost joyful. Sensing that her children are happy to see her even after death always touched her. Their loyalty and love for one person always seemed incredible and as a high value.

When she finally reached the end of the cemetery, there it was: Her beloved parents' graves. She didn't want to visit them often, thinking and seeing herself unworthy to come here as a demon... The very same thing that ended them and took them from her. Still, sometimes she would come and visit them and talk. She never had the chance to feel a father's love and a mother's care, from the very beginning of her life, she always had to fight and survive alone. This way of living made her swore that no one will ever feel the same as herself.

After questioning whether to visit them or not, she decided to go and pray for them. When she stood in front of her family's graves, she bent down with two knees and linked her hands in front of her to pray. After she is done, she slowly leaned in front of the grave to clean the bunches and remaining dust. She gingerly touched her father's photo on the grave and started to talk.

"Hello father. It's been a very long time, I apologize for that but... I just couldn't bring myself to come here. After all that happened I... I don't even know what I'm exactly feeling. Is it happines because I'm talking to you? Or sadness because I watched you..."

"Anyways after everything, I hope you're somehow proud of me, dad. And I hope everyone else is safe and sound up there... That you and mom are finally in peace. I need to go now since I have to check my kids. Please don't worry about me if you do. I was born as a warrior therefore I'll survive. Somehow I always do. Goodbye."

She swiftly stand up and went out to see her son and because of that, she couldn't neither see nor sense her father's presence and bitter-sweet smile.
