I was still shell shocked from Miles literally asking me to marry him, I still can't comprehend that he is asking me to marry him. Was he even being serious?

He can't be right? Why would he want to marry me. What I feel for Miles is off the charts, like I can't even put into words the incredulous amount of adoration I feel for him, I somehow in a short matter of months have learnt to be as dependent as I can on him while still having control over myself.

I knew I was in love with him, it was obvious, all I want to know is if he feels the same.

We didn't re-address the situation after that, we just drank and ate late into the evening, bottle after bottle. Not once did I begin to feel tipsy until we were both somewhat stumbling onto the street waiting for the car to arrive.

After 5 minutes there was no valet.

After 15, the rain started.

After 25 it was getting pathetic.

During this entire time Miles was tracking his car through his phone, he was screaming at the restaurant manager.

I was getting cold and irritable.

He returns his jaw is clenched, as well as his fists. He walks over to me and wraps his arms tightly around my waist, his head is in the crook of my neck. He sighs deeply, pulling me closer with every passing moment. I realise I am the one who is calming him down. I wrap my own arms around his neck, my hands sneak their way into his hair knowing how mooch he loves it.

"Matteo will be here with a car soon baby." He whispered against my neck.

I nod, not knowing if he could feel my movement but I don't say anything. I push myself closer to him as he was providing me with warmth against the cold rain.

"Can we find some shelter in the mean time, I don't think you will appreciate Matteo seeing me without bra or underwear." He tenses up at my confession, he looks me dead in the eye trying to sense if I am a lying.

But I'm not.

He knows that.

Earlier, after we had... fun. He was rushing me to get ready that I just didn't have time to find a cute matching set to surprise him.

"Don't tease me like that in public baby, we can't scare onlookers." I laugh loudly as he escorts me underneath a canopy near the restaurant.

He cuddles me closer to him, he shrugs off his coat putting it around my shoulders, still holding me flush against him.

It was silent... too silent. Miles must have picked up on my hesitancy because he began scouting the area discreetly, while I slowly move inside the coat pockets to reach his gun, and the one strapped to my leg.

I had time to strap a weapon to my leg, but not put on underwear... horny Cecilia clearly had priorities.

Cecilia is also addressing herself in the third person.

Our eyes connect when we find nothing around us, we were still sceptical and what we expect, happens.

Because why. Well, one it's the mafia and two this is a book.

A gun shot rings out around us, it embeds itself in the door frame behind us. We both snap our sights towards the direction the bullet came from, guns in hand, safety off.

We ducked slightly, staying absolutely silent. Miles taps my shoulder getting my attention, he points towards a black SUV opposite us.

At first I thought it was Matteo, until someone with blonde hair got out the car making a quick pace over to us.
