I hate this job so much. That's a lie, I love doing it from the paperwork, to the people you meet, to the interrogations and the killing.

That may be everyone in this line of works favourite part of it. But today in particular just isn't it.

Today marks 2 years since Giovanni's death, not a single day goes by where he doesn't cross my mind, or a like act everyday invokes a memory of him. I miss him, that isn't going to ever change. I know he wouldn't want me mourning him the way I do, he would want me to move on, fight this shit and win.

But I'm doing this for him. His murder stirred a side of Raven that was dormant. Everything I have done since his death, was for him. His death is symbolic. It symbolises the power of Italian Mafia, the power I hold.

And Marina knows that

Yeah, that bitch thought today would be the perfect day to meet her precious daughter to 'discuss the current situation', or as I like to call the war that she invoked.

A war that brewed over 20 years ago when's he faked her kidnapping, when she chose to fuck the Russian fucker, have his kid and move back onto our family like ti was nothing.

Like a said a bitch, and a conniving one at that.

I need my outfit to represent that I am done with this shit, it has to represent control and authority that she doesn't have over me. She may be my biological mother, but that woman will never. Never be a real mother.

Going into the closet I run my hand over all my clothes, only just realising that I own 95% dark colours.getting out a pair of black wide leg pantsuit trousers, a white lingerie bodysuit, one of my dark blazers- I cuff the sleeves at my elbows. I finally find a pair of black pointed toe red bottoms.

I slick back my straight hair with some hair spray. Finishing the look with a signature deep red lipstick.

I get my purse from the bedroom, putting in my wallet, my gun and some lip gloss. With one final look in the mirror I go downstairs. My husband should be around here somewhere.

And right I was, Miles was in the kitchen reading today's newspaper, like the old soul he was, drinking his coffee leisurely. I smile to myself, knowing he chose me. I married his handsome piece of ass.

I go to the fridge for the orange juice, going back to the island countertop, I pour some in a glass, I spill some on the counter out of shock when arms go around my waist.

I didn't even see him move.

"Morning baby." He whispers in my ear, his lips brushing against the shell of my ear in a teasing manner.

I turn my head to look up at him and smile sweetly when I see him already looking down at me with a sweet smile on his face. I reach up to kiss him on his lips longingly.

"Morning bello. What are your plans for the day?" I ask him, taking a sip of my orange juice. He takes the glass from my hands to take a drink of his own.

"Meeting with Maddox, there's this new investor. Plus, Dove has been missing us so I wanted to go see her." He replies, nestling his head into my neck. I chuckle at his cuteness in the mornings. "What about you my love?"

"I have a meeting with Myth and Joker about Villin. If you wait till this evening we can go see Dove together, I haven't seen her since I came back. I miss her adorable little Spanish babbling."

He kisses my neck. "Alright, my love, meet me at my office and we will go together. Do you need a ride now?" He turns me around in his arms so I am facing him.
