Meeting Tom's little buddies

Harry had returned to the Slytherin Common Room in the most anticlimactic way possible: He walked through the door.

None of the others had suspected anything so Harry had settled for shaping black mist into various amusing shapes, including a severed hand, six glowing eyes, and a snake.

He was currently trying to make a bust of Tom's head but couldn't get the eyes right.

"Harry!" Pansy said loudly as she flopped onto the couch beside him, obviously intending to talk.

          "Pansy!"

Draco had just burst into the Common Room, waving around a photo of a model with great hair.

"DRACO!!!" Blaise looked furious and was running his hands through his hair -a sign that Draco had yet again stolen his hairbrush.

"Blaise!" Theo ran into the room, carrying a copy of Magical Drafts and Potions, indicating that Blaise had failed to study. Again.

          "Theo," Harry drawled.

All fell silent and the four in the room looked at him, confusion marring their faces. Harry just rolled his eyes.

"Since everyone is yelling names, I didn't feel like being left out."

Blaise ran around the room chasing Draco and failing to get the location of this brush out of the blond, as per usual.

While he was doing that, Theo invited Viktor down and the two began to play a particularly violent game of Exploding Snap.

Harry thought perhaps they might blow up the table but, unfortunately, they denied him the pleasure of arson.

After a while of watching Viktor getting repeatedly beaten by Theo, Harry decided to go to Barty's office. Maybe he'd find some amusement in pissing the man off.

He stood and, making sure his companions were otherwise occupied, slipped out of the room.

The corridors were cold. Harry supposed it was to be expected given that it was wintertime, but he had an uneasy feeling about his head and it didn't go away.

As discreetly as possible, he opened his fist and an invisible wave left his hand, barely rippling the air.

He did not know the incantation of whatever charm he was doing; only that he had started to do it since god knows when to tell if someone was in his vicinity.

Yes.

Someone was near him -very near him, in fact.

His wand slipped into his hand. It was a pity he didn't have one of those daggers Auntie Bella liked to wield. He made a note to ask her to buy him some when she came to reside in Slytherin Castle.

His eyes scanned the area.

A windowsill. A pillar. A smooth stone wall.

No nook, cranny, no nothing. Harry was only slightly disappointed; the pillar would have to do. He aimlessly moved over to where the pillar was, assessing it tactfully.

Casually, he leaned against the post while angling his wand arm away from the vision of his stalker (he felt that a Homenum Revelio would give away his knowing he was being followed due to the yellow light it would produce when said wordlessly and verbally...well...that was for obvious reasons).

He waited, a seemingly innocuous move from the outset. He waited a few more seconds...

He was not disappointed.
