Day 23

Yoongi's Pov

I was laying on a random ass park bench. Why? Because I wanted to. I needed fresh air from the stuffy condo Jackson lived in, so I decided to lay on a random park bench and look homeless and confuse strangers.

I know, crazy right?

I was surrounded by laughter and joy, kids running from other kids, kids eating sand, other kids falling off of slides kid friendly slides.

Complete and utter fun.

It was when a certain person called a certain persons name, which made my eyes widen as I turned my head.
"Mommy!"
"Jungkook!"

Mommy?
The picture was sideways as was my head, but I could make it out just fine. At the foot of a blue side sat Jungkook and a little girl on her lap, the little girl giggling loudly while Jungkook grinned at her.

She's a mom?
She's a mother?
She had a child with Taehyung?
I suddenly felt very very sick. I wanted to leave the park.

Before I could though, Jungkook caught me looking at her. She smiled and raised her hand. "Yoongi! Hi!"

I didn't want to seem rude and ignore her, so I lifted my weak body off of the red painted metal, raising my hand stiffly- which seemed to produce a wave, since she and her daughter came walking over to me.

"We've seen each other three times in the past two weeks! I don't think it's only a coincidence! The universe is telling us to be friends!" I chuckled lightly, my eyes on the cute little girl that was hanging off of Jungkook's arm.

"How old?" The sudden question makes Jungkook smile as she starts to coo at her baby. "She's three right now. Her birthday is right around the corner so she'll be turning four soon. I'm starting to like you, so could I maybe get your number? I could invite you to her birthday party and you could talk to the others more."

My worst nightmare.
"I think I would be intruding-"
"Nonsense! We all would love to have you! You're a mysterious one, so you interest us. Please?"

I couldn't say no.
In high school every time Jungkook would give me puppy eyes and I could never resist.
Even though she's a girl now it's still the same.

-

Jungkook and I walked to her and Taehyung's shared house, babbling off about how she and Taehyung first adopted their baby, Sooyeon. I was low-key interested about the topic, and I could tell with every interested glance or hum I gave Jungkook, it made her happy.

I'm glad she's happy.
I sent Jackson a text about where I was going, and he told me that I was making immense progress and that he was proud of me.

I felt the same way.
Weeks earlier if someone told me I would be hanging out with Jungkook and her child I would laugh in their face before calling the police about drugs being passed around.

But here I am, actually enjoying myself. Even though I don't really like children, Sooyeon has created a teeny soft spot in my heart.

Jungkook and I's feet were matched in pace, our shoes hitting the hot concrete every few seconds at the same time. Our shadows were aligned, Sooyeon traveling a little behind as she continued to stumble over her feet clumsily, giggling and laughing her little heart out.

I had to turn my attention away from it.
Fuck.
Why did she have to be so freaking cute?

We were at the front door, and Jungkook fished out her keychain, struggling to find the right key with Sooyeon now clinging onto her like a koala bear.

Not wanting her to struggle too much, I unattached Sooyeon and placed her on my hip, receiving a grateful look from the woman in front of me.

She unlocked the door and I stepped inside, my eyes first paying attention to getting me and Sooyeon's shoes off. Once our feet were in slippers I looked up, my breath hitching at how beautiful the place was.

The house was big, bigger than I expected it to be. The walls were a baby blue, lots of children drawings and photos tapped or framed to the walls. Their were bright ceiling lights that lit up the whole room, someone how making it brighter than normal houses.

The floor was full of carpet, a beige color that matched with the color blue perfectly. Glass coffee table, a wall Tv, a big L beige sofa, toys scattered across the floor in front of the said table.

I could barely remember that Sooyeon was in my arms. The kitchen was full of marble and the color white. Marble counters, cabinets, floor. White dishwasher, fridge, table mats.

"Your house is absolutely gorgeous! I literally love it." And I wasn't lying. Jungkook's cheeks went red at my compliment, and with a wide smile she took Sooyeon from my muscled arms.

"My job paid for all this. I'm a professor by the way." My eyebrows raised. A profesor? Never expected that.
"Your husband?" Jungkook looked startled, but then an appreciative smile made way on her makeup free face.

"He's a stay at home dad. He quit his trainer job to stay with Sooyeon more." I nodded. We were moving farther into the house, and that's when the pictures on the walls became more clearer. He was a boxing trainer? Interesting....

She moved us to the kitchen, where she sat Sooyeon down in a high chair and rummaged through the shiny marble cabinets, looking for something to satisfy her child's appetite.

I sat down on a stool next to her, watching with a little grin as she stared at my arms in fascination. "So pretty...." She whispers, sparkles in her eyes.

"Mommy!" Jungkook turns abruptly, a smile on her face as she crinkled her eyes at Sooyeon. "Yes?"
"Can I grab my markers?" Confused, we gave each other a look before turning back to Sooyeon.

"Markers? Sweetie you're about to eat." Sooyeon started to pout like a baby.
"But mommy. I wanna color Uncle Yoonie's arms before I eat." My eyes widened. Uncle!

Jungkook turned to me with a bashful expression. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her cheeks red of embarrassment.

"Sorry about her. Would you mind?"
I shake my head.
"I would literally be honored."
A minute later Sooyeon had a pack of washable markers spread out on her high chair desk, a purple marker in her hand as she colored in the lines of my tattoos.

I watched in fascination as she added color after color, sometimes messing up- which made her pout until I reassured her that it was fine.

Once Jungkook finished making her something my entire forearm was full of makrers and maker finger prints. With a happy expression, Sooyeon allowed her mother to wipe her marker filled hands off with a baby wipe.

That made me start to think, and my mood depleted just a little. Before I could take my mind off of the topic I heard footsteps, and I craned my head around to see who was walking towards the kitchen with quick steps.

Taehyung appeared around the corner, and his footing stopped as he stared at me. I stared back, not at all intimidated by his immediate menacing glare.

"Can I talk to you for a second Kook?" Taehyung didn't care if he was being rude, still glaring at me as he addresses his wife.
Jungkook didn't want to.

"Right now? Look I don't know why-"
"Please?" His voice was soft now. Jungkook looked like she was weighing her pros and cons, before she sighed and put down the towel she was using to previously wipe down one of the marble counters father away from Soyeon and I.

"Alright. Yoongi, please make sure that Sooyeon doesn't make herself dirty or anything else ok?" I nod in understanding, ignoring the clear glare that was given to me by Taehyung.

What did I do to him?
