Third Person

Feleri and Flame both stared at the small window just above them inside the dungeon. The night was dark, yet it was serene and peaceful. The stars were shining brightly, shimmering like something spectacular would happen tonight. Not until the red blood moon caught their eyes. It's nothing spectacular, it's something horrendous. 

"Mother's gonna be fine, right?" Flame nods his head. She's gonna be fine. Now that they've locked up in the dungeon no one from her children is capable of doing harm to her, or so he thought. 

They are so worried about themselves being capable that they forgot about their younger brother, Freed. He was sleeping inside his room, safe and sound. His siblings disregarded him with the possibility of harming their mother because he was sick and fragile. They can't bare looking at their fragile brother lying on the cold floor of the dungeon, chained and restricted. 

Outside the queen's bed-chamber, she was guarded by the most skilled and powerful knights of the Empire. The other continent took part in protecting her as well, making sure she'll survive the night. 

The queen on the other hand was alone inside her room. She was wide awake. She couldn't sleep thinking this would be her last day. She can't leave her throne, her king, her children, the tribe, the whole empire. She just can't. 

Nakaupo ito sa kaniyang higaan habang yakap-yakap ang mga tuhod. Her head was buried on her knees as she was deliriously murmuring sweet nothings to herself. Namamaos ang boses nito't bawat katagang lumalabas sa bibig niya'y nanginginig. Hindi mapakali ang mga mata nito't kapagkuwan ay pasilip-silip sa paligid. 

"You'll be fine, my queen. I'm here. I won't let anyone hurt you," he said as he kissed her temple and hug her body close to him. 

The queen felt comforted. His husband won't let her die, he will protect her at all cost. After all, she's the queen of the continent, the mother of his children, his wife. 

 He loves her, he does. 

That's what she keeps on telling herself. Pilit niyang pinapakalma ang sarili habang inaalo naman siya ng hari. The warmth of his touch feels like home for her, but the king does not feel so otherwise. 

May pumasok biglang isang kalbalyero't may kakaibang tingin itong pinukol sa hari. The king understood and cleared his throat before breaking the hug. Inayos nito ang nagkandagulo-gulong buhok ng reyna't hinaplos ang pisngi nito. 

She looks so wasted and pitiful. Her eyes are bloodshot red from crying, a queen on her downfall it is. 

"My love, I need to check something for your own safety," he paused for a moment and kissed his queen's lips. 

"I will be back." Hindi nakaangal ang reyna dahil bigla na lamang itong naglaho na parang bula.

Again, she was all alone in her room. Kagat-kagat nito ang kuko habang nakatingin sa kawalan. Kung titingnan ay parang naaaning na ito't hindi alam kung anong gagawin. Flare's voice cursing her keeps on repeating on her mind like a broken mixtape. 

Sa bawat minutong nagdadaan ay mas lumalakas ito nang lumalakas at wala siyang magawa kun'di ang takpang ang tainga niya't paghahampasin ang ulo niya dahil sa naririnig niya. Hindi niya maalis-alis ang malamyos na boses na 'yon, boses na nagsasabi ng kahindik-hindik niyang kapalaran.
