"N-Nanami?" You couldn't help but gasp as the cloth fell off of your mouth. "What are you doing?!" Before you stood Kento Nanami in the flesh. He wore his beige suit with his arm rested on the doorframe. Letting off a soft sigh, he adjusted himself to a proper stance.

Nanami would eventually answer your questions as he rolled his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Did Satoru really not tell you? I told him I didn't want to be the one to explain it."

"Tell me what? Explain what?" You questioned. You didn't feel any mal intent from the annoyed detective so you had an odd sense of security. If Satoru really was in on it, you could trust you were safe.

After a momentary grumble of annoyance from the male, he turned around to face you. "This is a detective dinner party, and so it's tradition to have a 'mystery' solved every year. A game of sorts. Because of Satoru's prowess, he's been the one volunteered to be the centre of the mysteries every year. However this year he requested we include you in the mix to keep him company."

Now that would have been great information to know beforehand. With Satoru's history of confidentiality, it wasn't surprising that he neglected to tell you that much. But something still irked you about the situation. You couldn't help but to question his choice of words. "Company? Where the hell is he at then?"

"Good question," Nanami huffed. "If I knew, he'd be here right now. Satoru's not one to stick to plans so who really knows what he's doing right now. Though I have to admit I thought having you here would make him comply."

You let off a soft sigh, slowly standing up. "I see..." Yet another thing Satoru didn't tell you. And here you thought you were going to die. 'Have fun,' huh? You couldn't help but chuckle at the man's choice of words in his introduction. Did he want you to figure it out for yourself? No matter what his plans were, you were safe and sound with Nanami.

"I'm going to go out in the hall to make a call to Satoru," Nanami sighed, taking his phone out of his pocket. "Do you mind waiting? I should be back before any of the detectives in the hall solve the mystery."

You nodded. "I don't mind. Please figure out where Satoru ran off to." And with that you were left to your own devices in the master bedroom. Keep him company? At the end of the day, you're the one who wound up alone.

Satoru slowly opened his eyes... to see nothing. "Blindfolded, huh?" He hummed, a sly smirk spreading across his features. "Y/n..." He would await a response that never came. "Y/n~?" Satoru hummed once again, to no response. "Hello? Y/n? Nanami? What's going on?"

He tried to move his arms but had some difficulties. His hands were cuffed to what he could only assume was his chair. His legs were also tied. Because he couldn't see, he couldn't assess the situation. Was there anyone in the room with him? You and Nanami should've been in here. Then again he didn't remember planning to be knocked out either. He should've been conscious the whole time next to you, creating a perfect time to be alone together. But this was none of that. Knowing Nanami, he would be a stickler for instructions so he could reason out any interference from him as a possibility. This had to be an external force. But who... unless-

The thought sent a flash of panic in the detective, instinctively trying to kick his feat out to break the rope housing them together. He needed to get out of here as soon as possible. The rope was the weakest link, the legs would be the easiest to free. But he couldn't do anything without freeing his hands. And then there was his blindfold. He needed to take off his blindfold somehow so he could assess if he even had a chance at escaping.
